Upon remembering that I'd forgotten to contact a friend of mine a few weeks ago, I promptly proceeded to call her immediately, with the usual, and necessary excuse already firmly lined-up.

The conversation proceeded as follows;

ME: "Hi dear, how are you? So sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I actually tried calling you a few days ago, but I think the network was bad, because I just couldn't get through. In-fact, I tried about four / five times."

MY FRIEND: "Sheeeeegs! Nawa for you-o. You've obviously forgotten that you're not in Naija. That excuse doesn't work in the UK-o. Lol"

ME: "Chai! It's true-o. I forgot that everything actually works here. Please no vex, I simply forgot to call you. Jo ma binu."
