Why is it that "Give her her book" is correct and "Give him him book is not correct"? pls my people help me explain

According to the English Language, the third person singular which is the male personal pronoun is him, while the adjective of possession is his.

But in the third person singular, the female personal pronoun and the female possessive adjective are both the same, i.e., her

That's why, in your sentence, "give her her book" is correct. Even though the her are the same word, they play different grammatical functions.

Hope I tried. I am not good with the English terminologies
