I was recently refused a US visa yesterday Monday 23rd,7:15AM appointment. LAST WINDOW...No need to give transcript coz I kinda messed up. I almost got there late, barely 7:10AM, got in, no passport photograph, was given a form pass to go outside and get one...was told 2.5k for 6copies, told them I needed only one..the mofo no gree, tried two others before one agreed to #800 which was ALL I HAD( I consoled myself in that when I will be issued the visa, i wont mind trekking all the way home), got back inside, was cleared and proceeded to the other building. Passport and photo was scanned, next window biometrics was taken and remained the last hurdle to cross. I was ruffled and sweaty and trying to gain my composure back from the photo ordeal.
I watched as some people were refused and some given..it wasn't all BLUE as some applicants posited here...I saw lots of WHITE papers too so I keyed into it,but the last window, A skinny young African-America lady was dishing out more BLUES than WHITES, then it happened, I was asked to go queue before her window..E DON HAPPEN!! There was a young man in front of me and he got the BLUE without much questions, then CGI asked that I allow an aged woman on wheelchair be interviewed before me ans I said No wahala, hoping he would ask me to join another window..who sai, I was still there..Lady gave the woman her visa and all 2 women who accompanied her were just showering the lady with THANK YOU OOO..E SHE OO, she beckoned on me and I moved forward, then the session began. Initially I had my composure but the next minute I lost it, I began to blab and muddle answers up, although I answered correctly since I filled the form myself, but I guess my nervousness must have given me away, next thing I heard was 'sorry..bla bla bla.." I replied 'Thank you' and gallantly walked away. E pain me ooo but I know part of the blame was mine.
My question is now I am all geared up and rearing to go at it again, how soon can one apply?
Can I use the old DS-160 form filled or do I need to fill out another application form and get a new DS-160?
Would it be safe to set an appointment for January ending as that would amount to the 3months window period needed after a denial.
I am considering taking my wife and child along and applying for a vacation instead of applying solo.
I am not desperate though, I have a good petroleum products distribution and supply business going well for me, I own the flat I live in and my wife has a thriving business too so not returning to Nigeria is out of the question.
I need to conquer and I need advice.

Awww...so sorry abt this. Try applying again but this time, with family. Also, you need to fill a new DS-160 form for the new appointment. I wish you the best

Try another country with your family and since you don't wanna share your transcript it will be hard for us to advise you.

Do you want to know the truth? The agent has not paid your visa fees and has not also open an appointment page for you reason for no clash of information.

I concur, I've paid for my visa fee today and now I can proceed to process everything on my own with the knowledge I've acquired here.

I used my official company mail for my profile...hope that is fine?

Thank you very much.

There are available dates in December but for Abuja.
Take a photocopy of your Intl passport data page to gtb and make your payment. Ensure to collect the original mrv receipt.

Please elaborate on the original mrv receipt cos I was only given a print out copy of CGI transaction receipt today with the reference number printed on it. Hope I'm good to go with that?

I have a police report stating the loss of the passport alone.Doesnt state the visas in the passports.

I used that for the reissue

Is there anywhere on the new passport that indicates the old passport was lost or stolen? Or did it just carry the old passport number on it?

It bears the old passport number on it and in your form, there is a question that asks if your passport has ever been lost or stolen

OBSERVATIONS AT THE CONSULATE ON THE DAY OF MY INTERVIEW

Some people get to the interview with Crammed expected answers. and when questions are twisted, you get lost.

Someone said she was going to Florida for vacation and they asked her, would you visit Maimi and her reply was NO its only Florida i want to Visit. she was asked again, where in Florida are you going to, she said the main city. so i wonder if you can talk about Florida without mentioning MAIMI. Straight BLUE paper.

Another lady said she is visiting Newyork for vacation and sightseeing. and was asked how long you would be staying and her reply was, "NOT MORE THAN 6 MONTHS" and was asked a whole 6months for a vacation and she said yes, was asked again , where would you stay for the six months and her reply was A HOTEL. straight BLUE paper.

Another couple were asked, when would you be traveling and they said, my husband would go first and i would come later , where as they said they are going for 10 days vacation. so you guys should do the maths. Straight Blue paper.

Another heavily pregnant lady of atleast 5 - 6 months claims she is going on a 12 days vacation and she don't want to give birth there. So i wonder why u decide to go on a vacation at this stage. Straight Blue Paper.

A guy was asked howmuch he has budget for the trip the answer he gave was 6 million. but the said his salary was 130k. so do the Maths.

Someone claims He has a poultry farm of about 2000birds and want to go on vacation. to rest and also learn more about Poultry farming. so i just wonder if ******* anyways its a Straight BLUE.

And another annoying thing i noticed there was people dress up in Suits Coats hang Identity cards as if they are for sell. i just see it as someone that has alot to hide. you don't need to show you ID as proof of work, Afterall plastic ID id just 150 Naira. for me i wore a simple polo and a short and a sneakers, Imagine some dressed like traditional rulers just to score points. just be yourself and be confident. u only fidget if you are lying. and those VO knows from the way you answer your questions.

More than 6 people before me got a blue paper and they deserved the blue if i were the VO cos their response to questions asked were not real.

My advice is if you are planning a genuine trip, just be your self, fill you DS-160 your self so you wouldn't waste your 64k on a blue paper and also try and listen to the people taking the interview and you would hear some likely questions you might be asked.

Zigziglar, so sorry about that. The lady at the last window denied alot of people.(she was putting on a brown jacket) perhaps she has made up her mind to only issue to older women. One or two questions like this next thing na blue paper. just keep your faith alive bro and try again.

I want to apply for the DS 160 and I've learnt a lot from this thread part 1-3....I pray I'll come back here to give my testimony very soon

But my question is can I apply for DS 160 along with my daughter?? what will I need if I want to apply for her too?? she's just 3years old..
Please what are the chances of both of us being granted visas, we bear different surnames too(she's my daughter but I'm not married to the father), hope that won't cause issues??

Boss Seyewest, to answer that question, from the beginning I said I almost ran late for my interview,I was driving but was caught up in Masha area of Surulere till around 6:30AM,if you see the traffic that morning, no be here ooo when I navigated past stadium I saw another traffic on the bridge heading towards CMS,No way!! I had to stop by a car sales shop along the road, begged the security man with #500 to allow me park there and flagged down an Okada man to take me to V.I, who seeing the desperation in me, charged me #3000 saying his route is only on the mainland, that Island is a risk for him bla bla bla...Lagos na wah...time was 6:48AM,finally we settled for #2500 and it was a good decision because after beating that Costain-CMS traffic, the CMS-bonny camp route would have been another hurdle if not that I took a bike, so all these expenses made me have just #800 on me. N.B I didn't even leave home with my wallet or mobile phone being that all these would not be allowed in and I don't want to pay to store it when I get there so I just grabbed the cash left from Sunday night's groove and shoved it into my pocket. The interview was supposed to be a go-in get out thingy so there was no need for me to pack heavy.
And for the trek home part, its just me being sarcastic, I have people on the Island I could just walk in on and get whatever I need to get me home.
I just want to overcome this conquest and pass this test that I recently failed. As for the transcript, make I remember how it went and pen it down.
Thanks for your reply bro.

GBAM!! You dey there?? She wore a brown Jacket and had this 'say your piece and get your blue paper' demeanor. The guy before me had attended conferences in many countries and had the stamps on his passport to authenticate his claims..still BLUE was his portion.
Anyways How did yours go?

Talking down about Visa officer because of the decision they had to make to denial applicants should not be encouraged on this forum.

If you are granted.... Great
If you are denied....... See it has a delay

You dont apply for DS 160 you fill the DS 160 form while applying for USA visa, Yes you can apply for the USA visa along with your daughter all you need is her int. passport, it doesnt matter if you bear different surname, the onus lies on you to proof that she is your daughter. Your chances depend on how well you can proof to the VO that you are genuinely seeking for visa for the purpose you claim, as no one here is a VO or can tell you your chance.
