What Really Happens After Death? by paulos8: 2:06pm On Oct 15, 2017
Within the Christian faith, there is a significant amount of confusion regarding what happens after death. Some hold that after death, everyone “sleeps” until the final judgment, after which everyone will be sent to heaven or hell. Others believe that at the moment of death, people are instantly judged and sent to their eternal destinations. Still others claim that when people die, their souls/spirits are sent to a “temporary” heaven or hell, to await the final resurrection, the final judgment, and then the finality of their eternal destination. So, what exactly does the Bible say happens after death?
What then also becomes of our soul and spirit after death? Is the soul immortal??

I'm really confused... Don't know which one to believe anymore

A medically certified dead fellow should be in the best position to answer this question. Every other answer is a mere speculation. smiley

Let me give a practical experience. Immediately man dies his spirit leaves his body to face his maker. He or she gets to the junction of heaven and hell were the book of life and death will be opened. If his name isn't found in the book of life he will pushed to the left hand were Satan will bring the Bible to judge before dragging the person to hell. In that place there are people gnashing their teeth's,crying and begging for forgiveness. It's such a horrible place that I wouldn't wish my enemy to end there. The queue to hell is so large that many persons are trooping there on daily basis. If you need details pm

The Christian holy book mentions that there are people who hav actually died and then come to life , its worthy of note that none of this people ever claim to visit an imaginary afterlife , yet many who support christianity still hold on to that afterlife fabrication.

Does the spirit of animals also visit their maker?

Nice... So what then happens when the trumpet sounds and Jesus returns... Will those in heaven and hell be resurrected and judged again? (Ecclesiastes 12:7, NIV). At the resurrection, God reunites the body and His life-giving spirit—and the person lives again.
So what then is the need for resurrection... If he or she is already in heaven or hell?

Hebrew 9:27 "27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" is the answer to all.

The judgement that decides where they would spend eternity-- heaven or hell.

Honestly, I don't know which one to believe because most of these things are just hoax. We were told that there's life after death when people are either subjected to eternal destruction or happiness then why do people also claim that incarnation is also real?

Why should there be incarnation when people are mean to receive instant judgment the moment they pass on?
I mean, why should their spirits still be roaming about after judgment ?

The whole thing is just confusing

Nothing will happen. The end of your consciousness means the end of you for eternal.

What happens during resurrection? We are to caught up with our Lord in the air and shall remain with him till the judgement day.
The ones that died in Christ shall rise and caught up with him for the marriage super of the Lord but if you die a sinner hell you wait till the judgement day as the bible state in Rev:20:13 that hell shall deliver the death that are in him

See confusion in Christianity.
Well, let me help out. After death on earth, the soul continues to exist in any of the numerous afterlives(located in the inner universe). The soul can seek reincarnation to the physical worlds(located in the outer universe) or he may remain in the inner universe as long as he wished.
I have seen Eusebius and some of his cronies in their inner universe called 'heaven' before. Forget that thing that they said 'heaven is made of gold, jacinth, bla bla bla'. It's just a psychological place and not a physical dwelling place. It's peaceful(just like every other afterlives allowed to remain) but it's very boring. undecided
Hell has been made nonexistent many years back by the light of God Almighty.

In hell you will have the same attribute of being human being. You will feel the pains and torture from Lucifer and his agents. It's such a horrible place. If you are oppotuned to dream of it you wouldn't be laughing

The soul of man was never created immortal from its beginning - Genesis 2 vs 6 - 7. Man was created from the temporary things of this earth and God's breath was placed in him to animate Man for the period God chose. Adam was meant to earn immortality by eating the fruit from the Tree of Life(Eternal/After) but he is never recorded to have done that - Genesis 3 vs 20 - 24. This fact is generally ignored by the religious, primary because it does not fit with the many doctrines and traditions of the belief system. undecided

Another fact made clear in Scripture is all who are die under God's curse perish — cease to exist — in the grave - Genesis 3 vs 16 - 24. Essentially, all those who die outside of God's Law are bound to cease to exist once their life on earth comes to an end. This is another fact that religion glosses over as it runs counter of their general ideas regarding heaven and hell according to their many religious authorities. undecided

Jesus Christ is the only way to access Eternal life/immortality in this life, and His offer is only valid for those who have the literal blood of Jacob coursing through their veins. undecided

After death, some souls immediately go to their place of destiny, heaven or hell, while others linger in the realm of the spirit but eventually go to their destiny or return back to earth if it's not yet their time.

So many who returned back tells story like they were approaching a gate but they were never permitted to enter in.

But if you die through a ghastly motor accident with no hope of returning, your soul will instantly either go to hell or heaven.

The Rich man and Lazarus story is a good example. They both died and went to their destination instantly after death.

Jonah is another good example. Jonah died and went to hell before for the three days his lifeless body was in the belly of the fish.

I love this question!

After death, the body remains dead until the Day of Resurrection/Judgment.
The Soul, which is the real you faces the first instant judgment which will decide where to go spend your time before the Day of Judgment.
This is why many are turned into Hell while some are received into glory.

On the day of Resurrection, all those whose souls are in glory, whose bodies will hear the voice of the Son of GOD will be raised, and their souls united back with their bodies to become immortals; for just as our LORD JESUS CHRIST took back His body, so shall He give to them too.

During that time, those whose souls are in corruption/Hell will not hear the voice of the Son of GOD, and will be left as 'the rest of the dead'.

Correct.

But we shall be getting a different body and not our rottened sinfilled body. A new wine can't be put in an old bag.

Yea…

According to:

1 Corinthians 15 (KJV)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
⁵⁰ Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
⁵¹ Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
⁵² In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
⁵⁴ So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
⁵⁵ O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

At death man returns to dust from where he was taken {Genesis 3:19} in that day his thoughts perish no more feelings of anything! Ecclesiastes 9:5-6
paulos8:

What then also becomes of our soul and spirit after death? Is the soul immortal?
The soul means the character to illustrate let's say someone had an accident and his body was burnt beyond repairs but he's still breathing of course scientists will work out another body for him which makes him looks totally different from the first body but what happens to his likes, dislikes, hobby, love life, and others? Can the new body affect any of that?
So the body may be replaced but the mind as in character can only change if the person is willing to make a U-turn.
The SPIRIT is the force actuating our heartbeat after God created Adam from the dust He breath into his nostrils the force of life which keeps the heart working and sustained through breathing {Genesis 2:7} at death this force or power can only be reactivated by the one who gave it in the beginning {Ecclesiastes 12:7} so nothing survives man at death all is futility! Ecclesiastes 9:8
paulos8:

I'm really confused... Don't know which one to believe anymore
That's not a problem you can choose to believe whatever you understand clearly and can also teach others but you will only offend God if:
[1] You keep what you know alone to yourself!
[2] Stubbornly stick to it when you're no longer convinced due to proofs that it was wrong! smiley
