Am in! If we don't take responsibility, we will continue to toil the path of history overtime with no meaningful and visible change. It is high time we take charge, God bless op for this and I pray you don't deviate from this ideas. It is well with us.

I followed the discussion since inception, all I can say is that the zeal to achieve a common goal is there, though this not the right time to make a judgment on the sole objective of NYRP. if we can keep the fire burning in us and leave our differences aside, if we can consider ourselves to be the same without discrimination, then our goal is achievable.

How I wish it comes to fruition cos the country needs the youth at this very moment, the call for revolution has never been this urgent, the country needs visionary leaders that can steer her to greatness, we all know that the country is now a shadow of its former self.

I don't want to go further but u can all feel the urge to purge ourselves of all these recycled leaders.

Special thanks to the op for creating something like this and thanks to @lindabon as well for her insightful additions. Thanks to everyone that contributed to it too. Tobi, I see u.

PEACE.

ourchoice:

It is time for Nigerian youths to take charge of their future and stop the aged men and women from ruining our future and that of our unborn children in the name of politics and leadership.

All through my life, I have always hated and avoided politics because I feel less concerned and also feel its a dirty game for bad people, but funny enough, these same bad people decide our fate and future in this country, so why do we keep running away from politics as youths of Nigeria

PDP = APC

They don't care about the future of Nigerians, they care about enriching themselves and looting more money for their unborn generation. They have nothing to offer us. We shouldn't allow APC or PDP to win in 2019, enough is enough! We are tired of their fake promises! We are tired of their division of Nigeria using religion and tribalism as a tool. If not for bad leadership, Nigeria would have been a lovely country like USA where other country citizens will clamor to come in but look at Nigeria today, we are in a total mess! No future!

No Nigerian is sure of his or her future no matter how rich you are today, why Bad leadership! Nigerians are corrupt, Nigerians steal because they are scared of their future, they are scared their children and family will suffer tomorrow, so they steal and do all nonsense to secure a future they are scared of.

How can a governor proceed to become a senator after exhausting 8 years in office doing nothing for his state And we youths support them and help them actualize their devilish goals just because of peanut money.

How can we elect people who have no proven clean business or career success through diligence and integrity as our leaders Our president, governors should be successful entrepreneurs, CEOs, business gurus, technocrats and not retired military men who only believe in guns. Nigeria is still under military rule....its either a retired military officer is ruling us or his stooge is....so how do we claim to be a democratic nation

Who said corruption can only be fought with guns and bombs In 21st century, you fight corruption with technology and not with guns and bartons.

Agriculture is never what we need to develop Nigeria; these old men are deceiving us...what we need to change Nigeria is technology and we must go for it! With technology, we will develop our agriculture, medical sector, manufacturing sector, etc.

Whoever told you that Nigeria is making progress is deceiving you! How can we as a nation not able to take care of presidents health and we call ourself a nation

It is shameful that as advanced nations of the world are moving towards technology-driven youth leadership and e-government, Nigeria is still stuck in the 1960 leadership style of gun barrels whereby retired military officers and retired civil servants who ought to be resting with their grandchildren and telling them Moon tales are now the ones making ancient policies for our future based on their ancient ideas that are most times obsolete and not feasible in our today technology-driven world.

How do we as youths of 21st century believe that old men who only believe in traditional agriculture and crude oil mining as the only way to develop a nation will bring the much desired change we need to build our dream nation

We need to change this status quo now!

Visit foreign embassies; especially US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Germany, UAE, China, Australia, South Africa, just name it and see how Nigerian youths are queueing up en mass to leave Nigeria as if Nigeria is at war. Even war torn countries like Syria, Libya, Iraq, etc aren't witnessing the mass migration of her citizen compared to what's happening in Nigeria now, why

Because Nigerians are scared of the future of Nigeria, so they are leaving to any habitable planet just to flee from the hardship inflicted on Nigeria by bad leaders we have had over the years.

Nigerian youths please let's all arise as one this time irrespective of our tribe, religion or affiliation....we have a common enemy to fight: poverty, unemployment, under-employment and of course leadership corruption!

We can change Nigeria as one united youths!

How can we achieve this

Let's form a Nigerian youth revolution party with the aim of electing selfless and visionary youth leaders in various key leadership positions in Nigeria; President, Governors, Senators (very important), state legislators, reps, etc.

Remember, youths make up majority of Nigeria's voting population, so if we can unite, believe me, we can win these seats and chart a new course for Nigeria that every Nigerian will be proud of.

I therefore table my request to you honorable youths; let's form a Nigerian Youth Revolution Party.

The manifesto will be rolled out..and if you have suggestions on how to bring this to reality please come forward.

After the party is formed, we will invite Nigerian youths home and abroad that are doing exceedingly well in their respective fields to join us. We will have unique binding rules to ensure we elect only the best who have Nigeria at heart.

Top on our manifesto will be job creation through 21st century entrepreneurship development, Nigerian technology revolution, restructuring Nigeria for effective leadership and grassroot governance, elimination of leadership corruption through the use of internet technology, creating a honest and truthful database of Nigerians to enable us know who and who are Nigerians.

Good move.

I want to belong to this school of thought.

I am an optimist; but we can only make it if we convince ourselves of our genuine interest in the common good of all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, creed or region.

When it becomes a serious move, call on me for best and selfless ideas on how better Nigeria will be achieved by us-youths.

YES WE CAN!

ourchoice:
We need to abolish state of origin in Nigeria and look at the possibility of making it compulsory for every Nigerian parent to give their child 3 names which must include names from the 3 major Nigerian tribes; Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba.

Also, we need to look at the possibility of making Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba languages a compulsory subject in all Nigerian schools starting from primary school to foster unity and curb tribal division.

Restructuring option 1 suggestion from me:
Nigeria will be restructured using the existing 6 geopolitical zones:

Northeast
Northwest
North central
Southeast
Southwest
Southsouth

Each geopolitical zone will have a prime minister, and then we will have a federal government council to be made up of the prime ministers from each geopolitical zone. They will rule for 6 years single term and each prime minister will be the head of federal government for 12 months.....it will rotated among them for the 6 years. The head of FG will act as the Nigerian president for the 12 months.

Each state will keep 50% of their revenue from their state and return 50% to FG. Additionally, states with natural resources like crude oil, gold, tin, etc will be required to remit another 10% of the revenue from their resources which will be used to help poor states with no mineral resources and low revenue so they can catch up developmentally.

Restructuring Option2 suggestion:

Presidential system remains as it is now.

Each state will manage their resources and keep 50% of revenue from their state and return 50% to FG.

Additionally, states with natural mineral resources like crude oil, gold, tin, etc will be required to remit another 10% of the revenue from their resources which will be used as support allocation to help poor states with no mineral resources and low revenue so they can catch up developmentally. Like this, all states and regions will develop at their own pace.

Each state will have their State Police for proper state policing.

The aim of restructuring will be to make governance in Nigeria much easier and to take it to the grassroots and not to enrich states with abundant mineral resources.

We really need a youth driven party to foster development in Nigeria now.

We have no other option. We need to start now to prepare ahead before Nigeria is destroyed further by the present and past politicians that have been ruining this nation and making our youths leave Nigeria in mass as if there is war cry

@Ourchoice, you have move a bit too fast.

Permit me to remind you that the topic you have raised and the thread you opened is a very important one that entails so much. It stands to be a possible solution to the nagging problem of Nigeria, but YOU OUGHT NOT TO QUICKLY STATE YOUR POSITION ON SENSITIVE ISSUE, INCLUDING "RESTRUCTURING".

That should have waited, because the success of your proposal to Nigerian youths (which of course interests us all) depends on how much neutrality to sensitive issues you can show.

Pls, tread carefully, so you and all of us (youths) can really buy your idea.

Thanks, humbly me.

Yes my brother, we will create both telegram, Facebook group, fan page, twitter, etc....we need at least 500 interested nairalanders here first to kick off.

Once we have enough people showing interest to join, then we can proceed to creating those other channels where can then discuss extensively, the mission, goals, and steps to be taken.

We also need state coordinators in every state and campus coordinators in every Nigerian higher institution to mobilize more youths to join before we launch out fully. Do you think we can achieve this What's your view?

I'm super interested.

YES! The urge is there to upturn the ills in Nigeria
But we should (NYRP) start with a single step. The situation at hand is NOT an easy one less we rush in and rush out without any tangible impact. We have started on the right path, creating the facebook group and other social media handles, I will advise we proceed with caution here as too many of these will create a divided house, each with its own agenda.
Secondly, I think we should have a website in place, and from there all communications can be published. We need a constitution to guide the members of this party. And to draft this, the six (6) geopolitical zones MUST be represented. Also, we need to register this party ASAP. All intending members can donate towards this, but only after we have constituted representatives in each zones.
Thirdly, we need to embark on massive campaigns and sensitization in ALL geopolitical zones. Remember the #politicians will kick back. We must develop a concrete plan to that effect. This is bigger than the social media.
Finally, we will present a sole candidate to contest in the 2019 elections. ALL youths representative must ensure our votes counts. At this stage we will involve a lot of organisations fighting for the same cause. It will be tough, but we will overcome if we unite and focus on this mission.

Yes we can!!!

thanks for this observation. I will slow down from now on. Thanks again.

That is why we need more youth ideas and initiatives to make this work. This must not be about me or my ideas alone. It is our initiative, our collective ideas to build the nation of our dream.

There are still a million questions which are still yet to be answered, but i believe we can let that slide for now, as the most important thing for now is getting as many interested youths as we can to be aware of this movement and take part, that way we'll have more minds capable of providing answers to the Questions that haven't been answered. With that been said, How does one get to Take part??

I will be releasing some of my ideas....everyone should feel free to contribute because this is the brainstorming stage and we need all the ideas and motivation.

Believe me, we can do this.

Mind you, I am not interested in any political post....I only want to witness a prosperous Nigeria that all Nigerians can be very proud of.

We will be discussing the age range of members and aspirants as we progress.

We need to mobilize fellow youths and surprise the old politicians.

This is no joke...this is about our future.

Nigerians are so creative and talented, in fact Nigerians are one of the most talented people in the whole world so why are we lagging behind

We really can change things...thank God for the blessing of internet and forums like this this. We don't even need money to achieve this, all we need is mobilization and we are good to go.

Stop supporting the same old people that have been ruining Nigeria. they have nothing good to offer to us. To them, politics is a business to enrich themselves.

We will work to make politics less rewarding financially so that thieves will stop going into politics to make money.

mind you, we aren't asking for division of Nigeria neither are we gathering to cause commotion.

We will use the internet and social media to mobilize youths first before going physical.

We all need to follow our official Twitter handle @NYRP now to give us an influence and to attract others because the twitter handler will be tweeting facts and interesting tweets to fire up our spirit the more.

Please note that the twitter handle won't follow anyone back for now. We need social media influencer, if you know any, reach out to him or her to join us.

All your fears are fact and we will address them all gradually. What we really need now is to get as many youths as possible to join the movement.

I understand your concerns.

NYRP is NOT here to fight the government

NYRP is NOT asking for the division of Nigeria

NYRP is HERE to participate in the forthcoming election as a duly registered party under the constitution of Nigeria.

NYRP has citizens of Nigeria as its members.

NYRP is an association to liberate Nigerian Youths from slavery, abuse and untold hardship.

NYRP will adopt measures under the constitution of its establishment, the constitution of the Fed Rep of Nigeria to exercise its rights

NYRP will engage youths positively through continuous education, entrepreneurship and empowerment.

That's NYRP stands for and will uphold.

Good morning my dear brothers and sisters, I bring more good news to the house for you all. Believe me, we are in the right direction and only disunity can stop us.

Just this morning, I got a mail on our official email from an unknown person who seem to be a foreigner, and guess what He encouraged us and said that what we have just started is what we ought to have done for the past decades to have rescued our nation from eventual collapse.

He advised us to ensure we do not work with any existing old politician no matter the offer, that we should focus on mobilizing fellow youths to get huge number in order to give us an influence to decide on many things. He strongly advised us to make our presence on Twitter known and that we should try and grow our Twitter handle so that the whole world will get to know about us.

This is a great news for all of us. It shows that we are on the right track. For some of us who are kind of pessimistic about this movement, please don’t be discouraged, we will discuss all our fears and jointly reach a mutual agreement on how to overcome our challenges but let’s not focus on our weakness now and just get fully started first.
