Honestly speaking, if you live in countries like Sweden, UK, etc. where I can tell you that power has shifted hands into the hands of women, maybe your overall stance on this issue will change. You do not know what it is to live in a feminist-dominated society and I tell you you would wish for the opposite. In case you do not know, modern-day feminism is all about female superiority. First and second wave feminism, which I do support, were about women's rights to vote and expanded economic opportunities for women. Nowadays, what we have is a gender war between both sexes. You have to be moderate in the way you champion your feminist cause, I am sure you are male.

As for men being the head of the household, this was put in place simply because a man is not only financially capable of protecting the home, but also physically capable. A head of the household, in addition to providing financially, should be able to physically fight off intruders into the home, ward off danger from the home or defend the home from stray animals etc., which men can do but most women cannot or will not do. I do not mean to generalize, but most women will scamper for safety when faced with situations like these, expecting the man to go out and take charge/defend.

I’m not saying I disagree with the main bulk of your write up but most people in the UK thing America’s a backwards country and there’s something to that. Not even re. gender but for one thing the fact that any psycho can go on a shooting spree because guns are that readily available. Let’s not pretend America’s some utopia. The US and the UK both have their highs and lows.

You know how the world is, always looking for something new, or some new interest or trend. Last decade, it was racism that was the trend, making the news and headlines. 'Racist person does this' or 'racist person says that' etc. Feminism is the trend now, especially in western countries. As with other past trends, the world will get tired of its whiles and move to something new or some other new trend. If you want to get famous, buy into or rhyme with feminism and you get lotta applause and followers. It is called commercial feminism. Beyonce uses this very well to effectively sell her songs, on the outside, she is a 'feminist', yet on the inside, she is married to Jay Z, bears his surname and probably spends enough time in the kitchen and does most of the housework (things feminists love to abhor and wish for women not to do). Even our own dear Chimamanda Adichie has bought into the feminist frenzy and she admitted in a recent interview that she is not raising her children, especially her daughter, the 'Nigerian' way. She claims her 15-month old daughter is strong-willed and loves to express herself so she would not 'control' her but let her grow up the way she likes. I'm really interested to see how all this turns out for her.
