During my final year at university, I searched for a programme called Center Ring (Note the American spelling) as I needed to do some research for my The Non-Human in Performance module. When I moved to Nigeria as a child, it was shown on most NTA stations, and in case you are not familiar with the show, it was a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation production which featured circus acts from around the world. Of course, they would never air a show like that now as the animal rights people will definitely complain, but during its heyday it was a great family show, and quite spellbinding given how dangerous some of the acts were. In addition to the performances, the two presenters of the show were also talented singers. I can't remember the man's full name (I think his first name was Carl), but the lady was Sherisse Lawrence. Carl's rendition of Lionel Richie's Easy was pretty impressive - I'm surprised he didn't get a record deal. Unfortunately it appears I'm the only one who remembers all those elephants, tigers, lions, clowns... I miss the 80’s... 1 Like |

hello, you are not the only one that remembers those show. i've been looking for it on youtube for ages now, but it seems its not in there. do tyou also remember telematch ,mr moon magic circus etc? |
