The annual celebration of the Ebira people and culture would strongly be getting a raise in the trend of activities, as plans to make the 2017 edition a greater success are on top gear, piloted by the Ebira Carnival Group.

Ebira Carnival is a day event on every 26th December, with a pre-carnival picnic hosted in the evening of Christmas Day at historical sites in Ebira Land.

Apart from what has been the usual, here are the new features for the 2017 edition, as hinted by the organizers:

1. A performance by the cultural troupe of Ebira-Etuno, one of the sister Ebira groups spread across the country; also, a musical star, and popular crooner of "Oshomosi Avo," Justice DH

2. The carnival for the first time will have live stage performance of contemporary music stars in concert, aside our traditional cultural display.

3. A legendary performance by ED Jatto, "Osoni va anehi, Osoni vana Africa" to honour his contribution to the contemporary music from our land.

4. A grand performance from JFO of Igala extraction.

5. Live streaming through an LED screen of billboard size to be mounted at the Grand Command Reception venue, covering the parade and beaming live to those already seated. This arrangement will also help with crowd control.

6. Meeting is ongoing with the management of NTA to also stream the event live to the world.

7. As usual, another spectacular historical site for the pre-carnival picnic, to be unveiled soon.
