I have seen marriages with high bride price collapse and those with simple marriage last and wax strong hence my wondering. I would really like to hear more from married couples

No! Bride price does not influence the longevity of marriage. The only thing that does is family history.

Family history is the only factor that influences spousal longevity. If those collecting the bride price all have great families, chances are you will last long/longer in your home. However, if the reverse is the case, what affected them will irrevocably fall on you too!

If your parents' marriage is great, no amount of bride price will make them hand you over to an unfortunate spouse. You cannot bribe two happy adults who have been in marriage for many years with colanut.
