Maybe what they mean by it is that the guy is naïve. It's not stimulating to be in a relationship with a goody-goody whom you can predict to a T. They want excitement. Push me, pull me, hurt me, make-up sex, the whole roller-coaster ride. Someone who can test the elastic limit of her heart.
