INTERVIEWS fundamental issue


1. Candidates do not get paid for the interview time while interviewers are paid by their companies. So wasting candidate time is considered fine. No, it is not.


2. There is no standard time to get back. My personal standard - by the morning of next day. Why is it so difficult ? Yes, we all typically don't buy the first car we see. But people are not cars.


3. Interviewers come to interviews unprepared, and read CV resume in front of a candidate for the first time. That's unprofessional, just like not getting back to candidates in time.


. 4. Candidates get put through a series of 30 mins interviews. Come again, in 30 mins you will decide someone's future ?


4. Finally: do not expect best people to wait around while you interview more candidates.
