Note this is just my thoughts as a music critic. It is just an opinion.

When the P-square fiasco started and each threatened to go solo, a lot of music lovers and enthusiasts were skeptical about the survival of each of them as an independent artiste. A lot of this skepticism was directed towards Peter Okoye now known as Mr P.
As it's popularly known, a lot of P-square's number one hits were the brain child of Paul Okoye self acclaimed Rude Boy. So the fear for the success of Mr P as a solo artiste was or is not farfetched neither is it unfounded.
But as a P-square fan myself, a passionate music lover and a keen onlooker in social media affairs, I came up with this points that elucidate why Peter Okoye or Mr P might struggle a bit, but will be successful more than his brother Paul. Let's get into them.

SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE.
The power of social media cannot be over emphasised. Anything can trend within one hour and the whole populace will pick the craze. Musical artiste have utilised the power that Social media offers and are still utilising it.
Peter Okoye (Mr P) obviously is loved on social media and numbers don't lie. His instagram followers is at 3.1M followers compare to his brothers 1.7M followers. His twitter followers number is above 1.5M while his brother is still under a million.
One does not need a soothsayer to say that Peter Okoye can make anything trend within hours with this numbers. When he puts a material out there, it reaches a lot of people than his brother will ever do. Little wonder Mr P “Cool It Down” Video trended weeks ago as number one on YouTube.

MR CONTROVERSIAL
Bloggers love controversies. In fact newspapers and online magazines get more hits on controversial issues than streamline news. Mr P is always the first to air his opinion, whenever there is a crack in their union, Mr P is there to give bloggers a filled day. So his name is out there more than the brother. Peter Okoye's related news gets more hits than Paul Okoye.
The controversies started from his Marriage to Lola to his family refusal to assent to the marriage due to age issues. Mr P is an embodiment of controversy and believe me, that sells.

HIS CHARISMA
I can boldly say, when P-square was trending, Peter is the face of the group. Ladies are easily drawn to him. He is more open than his drawn back shy brother and was always saying more at interviews. He brought life and sparks to their musical videos with his dance moves and admirable biceps and six packs. And the ladies love Mr P. We all remembered how Alingo dance moves gripped us back them.
Brands want to identify with someone who will push their brand forward. Peter Okoye has got the needed charisma, traffic and Aura that brands wanna identify with. And he has been tapping the milk of this tree ever since even while as a member of P-Square. Mr P is the brand ambassador for Olympic milk, and a handful of other personal endorsement here and there. Same cannot be said of his brother Paul.

TASTE OF MUSIC IN NIGERIA
Youths consumes most of the music being churned out daily in the Nigeria music scene. And what sells is not necessarily good music but a groovy jam that trends. If it's about good music, "One Corner" will not trend, "Wo" by olamide will not trend.
This factor works very well in Peter's favour. All he has to do is get a good producer, and he is good to go. He can organise a dance competition for a track and we all know how successful that has been for Skales and Olamide. He already has the social media presence.
