Menopause At 30? by Preggy1: 1:52pm On Mar 19, 2010
I m a 30 yrs woman with two kids. My menstruation has not been regularly for some time, yet I am not pregnant! I have done so many tests and its negative! I might not see it for 5 months then see it on the 6 month, its very unpredictable I have been to the hospital so many times they keep telling me its stress, what kind of stress will make menstruating seize for so long? I often have hot flashes in my body, headaches, weakness & i usually feel hot in my body, mood changes etc.

Is it possible to be menopause at 30 and that it has not been picked up by a Doctor yet?

well, first of all thank God you already have kids.
when you say yove done tests, what tests? Have you been on the pill for an extended period ?
Can you describe the 'hot flash' ?
What's your libido like?
You cannot rule out primary ovarian failure simply becuase of age but on the other hand its also quite rare.
Your symptoms and the way your feeling are very subjective.
Your best bet, See an OB/GYN. Who'll send to do a hormone profile at a reputable lab.

i read an article in one of these foreign magazines a while ago about a lady who went through menopause at age 19.
i suppose there are some hormonal abnormalities that can lead to early menopause. in some cases, it could even be a sign of ovarian cancer or some cyst. best thing is for you to do is to get yourself checked.

I agree with the first reply but want to add a little more light to you. It is very unusual to have menopause at your age in this country. But there are many things that will give you symptoms you just described with the failure of normal menstruation.

Have you been having waist pain? Vaginal discharge? and pain on passing urine? Do you have any lower abdominal pain?
Some times chronic pelvic infection may results in uterine adhesion with resulting irregular menstruation.

The best option is still seeing a specialist to do both radiological test and hormonal assay.

No I dont have womanly discharge & I dont have waist pain
I have lots of back pain and feel very lazy recently
I had a Pelvis test recently, I was told I had a small size fibroid and nothing else was seen  cry

Since you only done a pregnancy test, I suggest you do a full hormonal profile to ascertain the level of estrogen, FSH, LH, Gonadotrophin, prolactin etc. In your system.
Since an pelvic exam revealed nothing significant a hormonal assay is the next line of investigation now. I hope this isnt what you think it is.
The hormonal picture in 'premature' ovarian failure is typically a high FSH High Gonadotrophin and a low oestradiol (oestrogen).
OBGYN = obstetrician&gynaecologist.

@ Poster, are you overweight?
I remember reading the posting - Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology where there was a lady asking the doctor about the same problem she has had like yours - no period for several months. She was like 95kg at that time. The doctor advised her to lose weight and in 1 month after regular gym and lost 10kg, her period came back.

2 kids and you don't know the meaning? Strange.
Obstetrics and Gynecology is a branch of medicine dealing with a woman's reproductive/sexual health.

Just back from the Another Hospital, The doctor said what i m experiencing is Hormal Change, that it could be due to a number of factors (fibroid, Childbirth and increase in weight as Jaja Z advised ) etc that some women experience it and I shouldnt panic.

Solutions:

1 Lose your weight and your menstruation returns

2 Use some drugs that could help regulate the hormones to see my period

Thank you all for your advises you have been kind, now I know I have no menopause fears to worry about  wink
