Education is a waste of money in Nigeria. Lets those kids learn a trade and in the nearest future they are already millionaire while a graduate will be struggling for a job years after school

Op please don't mislead the public. No Nigerian pays tuition fees in any federal university and indigenes of a state don't pay tuition fees in the state own institutions.

The funniest part of it is that after your parent/guidance had laboured to meet those exorbitant charges, when you graduated, you are not assured of being employed. That country is a ......., I don't want to say bad thing early this morning, God help Nigeria.

Same here in uniben, after so many years of paying 14000 as school fee for science and 12000 for arts students, the have now increased to 45k for everyone and upto 120k for first year students, including acceptance fee.

Now on a normal day, acceptance of admission is not supposed to involve payment, it's just a procedure where you write a letter to the school stating that you have accepted the offer of admission.

What hope do we have in this country, imagine after schooling, no job, after you manage to setup a business despite the economic climate, you struggle to pay fees in secondary and university, how does one survive, ebe like the yankee go win am last last oh.

What is the fate of the average and below average Nigeria families to train their children in the higher institutions in the country.
Soonest the public school will compete with private.
Government is now profit enterprises.

University education is not mandatory for life and living. It is for those who will contribute to society via intellect alone and in very few cases will you have entire members of a family grouping in that position. So it becomes less difficult to raise the funds for just one or two as opposed to the half dozen or so wards Nigerians have on average.

A couple of my siblings are pursuing careers and visions completely at variance from what they studied at college and I will take this to be a complete waste of their time and the government's resources for courses that are obviously heavily subsidized.

And this is the great failure of the black race. Waste and want on the same plate.

Chevronstaff:
APC GOVERNORS ARE CURRENTLY WRECKING NIGERIA....
While countries like Germany are making "quality education" affordable for everyone including international students, its a different ball game in Nigeria...
MY PEOPLE,THe Day u take a flight and leave Nigeria, you will never forgive the people we call leaders in this country....

1.Germans pay 50% of their taxes to guarantee free education

2.Back in 2013...ASUU was forced to accept N1 trillion in extra funding instead of the 3 trillion originally agreed in 2009.The past govt paid N200bnof the amount in 2014, then stopped paying in 2015.This govt does not have extra 200bn yearly to pay universities.

Hence fees are high.

Or shebi you go dash govt half yer salary for free education? Or do you have N3 trillion or more just for universities over the next two years?
