You could boil it inside your rice tho but make sure the rice turns slightly green that's when you know it's potent.

When you say boil it, is there a particular temperature to set it to ? Or just like boiling tea. Will have to step into the kitchen as I do not want any of my domestic staff knowing for now.

No required temperature. The same way you boil ginseng if you've done that before or ginger or garlic.

As for strand, any is good apart from the processed ones which are made simply for smoking. Heard those processed ones have been mixed with something else.

It must be unprocessed, just dried maybe and should come with the sticks (not compulsory).
