Hitherto handsome horizon
Of the highland
Darkened with glum
And took plunge
Into perennial plague
Of pasture warfare.
The plateau
Is plagued now
With pandemonium.
Nights refuse
To beget sleep,
Sorrows sap souls
Of men
And mothers
Whose minors were murdered
By neighbours
Now marauders.
The cudgels of Jos,
The red pools
Taunt our humanity.
We are dead
Before
The arrival of death.
