The football world has, once again, been thrown into mourning as former Chelsea youth coach and Crawley Town boss, Dermot Drummy, has died at the age of 56.

The former Arsenal youth trainee joined Chelsea as an Academy coach in 2009, where he took charge of the youth team and reserves over a five year period, and won the Under-21 Premier League with Chelsea in 2014, before moving onto the role of international head coach.

He took his first managerial position job in April 2016, where he became Crawley Town’s manager. He was replaced by Harry Kewell in the summer of 2017.

Tributes are being paid to the late coach who was seen as one of the catalyst’s behind the growth of Chelsea’s academy that has produced some of the stars in the Blues’ team.

Bournemouth defender, Nathan Ake, who played under Drummy at Chelsea, expressed his shock over the news of the gaffer, describing him as a great person and a great coach.
