Why Are People Protesting In France But No Protest In Nigeria? by coldgate(f): 12:32am On Nov 29, 2017
Events and revelations of the past few days have really exposed how selfish and conceited the vast majority of Nigerians are. Footages and photos of our brothers and sisters being traded, imprisoned and killed in Libya are all over the internet. There are protests in Paris. I am just wondering, why there is no protest in Nigeria. I am not sure of the statistics but have watched some interviews and have come to the conclusion that at least 50% of those in this terrible situation are Nigerians. This means that our brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews, nieces are being mindlessly sold, imprisoned and some killed in Libya yet each time I read Nigerian news all I see are our reactions on someone's wedding, peoples private sexual lives and lifestyle. Where did we go wrong as a country? Ok. the govt. is silent. But these are our own relatives, friends out there. We are always talking about using the social media to engender change. Why cant we also use the same social media to fight this evil until something good happens? I am so sad. Sorry for the long tirade but if there is any logical explanation for our complacence please leave your comments below. Thanks.

Very nice... I have been wondering too.... Our lazy attitude to salient issues; giving priority to frivolities is the reason for our poverty and backwardness.... "Of course is doesn't concern me", " why did they even leave their countries", these are comments we see on social media. It does not concern us until ours lives are burnt.... If we can't fight against black slave trade in this modern world, then what the hell are we fighting racisim, inequality etc for..... May God grant us understanding to decern that there is no tomorrow anywhere, as it has been prepared by yesterday's decisions and actions..... My one cent though

We're waiting for others including 'western countries', international bodies and pastors to do the job.
Ever ready to shift the responsibility unto others.

No be we send them. Not directly anyway. But we have been choosing bad leaders for so long now that poverty, unemployment and poor healthcare are only some of the few issues we have to deal with. Do you blame them for trying to find a way out of this hell hole that we all have created directly or indirectly?
