Okay! We know that the Children of Israel paid the tithe, because they were commanded by the law. Since you know that Abraham paying tithe had nothing to do with faith, please tell us can you teach us, why did Abraham pay tithe?

There's nothing like Faith in what Abraham did. Pls get a dictionary and read the meaning if faith.

Genesis 14 vs 18 - 19 - 18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth.

He gave Abraham food and drinks wen he came back from war.

Abraham didn't pay tithe every week or every month to Melchidedez, it was a one time payment and he didn't pay with his money or with what he owns, He paid 10% to The high priest from the plunder he got in a war with his enemies.

This tithe was a free will offering Abraham chose to give the high priest who is also a king.

The well detailed rules of tithing is clearly explain in the books of Deuteronomy n Leviticus. It's not same with Abraham's tithe.

Abraham tithe WAS NOT a free will offering

PrecisionFx, however, is right that there's nothing like Faith in what Abraham did

No principle of faith about tithing or to tithe was revealed through Abraham.
Abraham, simply was following a custom practice that needed to be carried after successful win(s) of fighting a battle or war.

Abraham gave tithe under a custom law of that prevailing society setting,
this compelled him to give a tenth of war spoils to a king cum priest of considerable or worthwhile repute

The first appearance of tithing, in the bible, does occur between Melchizedek and Abraham
However, the truth is, neither started tithing,
because tithing was a prevailing practice in the secular world of the Mesopotamia bible day times of that era

ehissi, you are not alone, if why did Abraham pay tithe, is a question you havent been able to answer
Or dont know why it was Melchizedek, Abraham opted to give the spoils of war tithe to
and didn't know of the customary law that compelled Abraham to give tithe

Abraham took up arms and went to fight battle only once
and as it is customary, in those times, when battles or wars are won and over,
what belongs by right or custom to the victor, is 90% of the war booty
Interestingly, in a manner that cannot be evaded,
the rest, 10% of the spoils of war, as per custom again, mandatorily is to be given to a local ruler cum priest, and be blessed
Abraham found no other local person, better or more qualified than Melchizedek, to give this customary tithe, 10% of the spoils of war to

The immediate above, is the circumstances surrounding the, what, why, when, where, whom to and how Abraham tithed

Abraham didnt take up arms and go into battle again, so there was no reason for Abraham to tithe again,
no reason to tithe to Melchizedek or to any other local ruler cum priest worthy of consideration

I could type more, write further about this, at length and in depth
but wont, because it will go beyond the title of the thread and anyway, probably turn out long-winded

""there was no reason for Abraham to tithe again,

Stop typing with confusion, U said there is no need Abraham to pay Tithe n ur here telling people to pay tithe every month. grin grin.

""know of the customary law that compelled Abraham to give tithe""

There's no customary law that compelled Abraham to pay tithe to a king who gave him wine n food.

""Abraham took up arms and went to fight battle only once""

And who told u that Abraham didn't fight other battles.

In my explanation about tithe, I gave u a clear detail. Pls use ur common sense.

Please substantiate the underlined in the bolded allegations that I have written telling people to pay tithe every month
by reproducing or show the quote verbatim, where you've alleged: I was telling people to pay tithe every month

If not, then retract your slander, the libellous remark please
and tender apologies for reading incorrectly the contents of my post

"know of the customary law that compelled Abraham to give tithe"

There's no customary law that compelled Abraham to pay tithe to a king who gave him wine n food.
You would say there was no customary law that compelled Abraham to pay tithe
because you have never given this aspect of the Abraham-Melchizedek meet up any serious thought.

PrecisionFx:
"Abraham took up arms and went to fight battle only once""

And who told u that Abraham didn't fight other battles
I can give you the entire bullet points list of all the battles fought in the Bible

In the list, you'll find out that, it's only on one occasion,
which is, in
Genesis Chapter 14, that Abraham took up arms to fight a battle

So my dear friend, I reiterate, Abraham
, DID NOT, again, take up arms, to go fight any other battle

PrecisionFx:
In my explanation about tithe, I gave u a clear detail.
In your explanation, you gave a shallow detail

PrecisionFx:
Pls use ur common sense.
I beg your pardon, are you talking to me?

Calm down, friend, as you're coming across as an impetuous person,
otherwise, you wouldnt stoop low and say this to another

I can only presume, you were tired, you were looking in a mirror and then uttered this remark while typing it.

Why would you need to speak in tongue to The Most High? Yahweh is all knowing and understanding he isn't confusion and gibberish.

You want to speak to the most high with the same words you use to curse and lie and be taken serious? No language of this world is SANCTIFIED enough to address Him.

You preach from the scriptures, interesting.

Just like the pharisees and Sadducees claimed to know the scriptures but didn't accept the divinity of Jesus Christ.

They were always eager to rebuke and chastise, because they felt they had a good knowledge of the law, not knowing the things of the spirit.

Christianity is a personal race, it's not just the letters in the Holy book.
That's why Jesus Christ sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us.

Daddy Freeze should be very careful, because even when Jesus made some statements, they called it blasphemy.

It's not just to quote bible.

God help us.

brethren, let's get these things clear, first of all ,the issue of tithe when Father Abraham paid tithe to the high priest Melchizedek was it a law certainly not, when Jacob promised to pay it was it a law No. so when did tithe became a law?.we know the storyline, this was law given to a particular people the Israelites not to a Gentiles nation that we are for a purpose ,The Levite's class who where priest unto God then when Christ the highest priest has not come. When Jesus came and performed the sacrifice once and for all .meaning no more sacrifice is to performed again. The question, Are we Isreal that God gave law tithe (2)who is from the class of the Levite's that works in the sanctuary (3)who is the priest today that performs the sacrifice that Master Jesus had performed once for all and accepted by God.(4)why only tithe, what about lamb, pigeon, goat, heifer and bull sacrifice all these including tithe are contained in the law covenant. please brethren let's be for once a berean Christian. It is not ten % again but all from the heart(Matthew 22:37-40)In the dispensation we are now tithe is not bad but not a law. second issue speaking in tongue, pls let's get clear that it given to them for the purpose of preaching the gospel to the people of the Gentiles who where not Christians and do not know Jesus Christ and His mission.Today Christians go Bible colleges learn it and invite pastors to teach and lay hands for them to have it.It shows ignorance in the highest level. note, I do mean criticize or to attack any body or churches, but to enlightened.

That was a different dispensation. God visited them and sent His Word to them whenever He chose. And His presence came upon them from time to time. That was merely a shadow of the things to come... Some of these prophets of old saw our day afar off and rejoiced over what they saw.

Today we have the special privilege of having His presence with us 24/7. We can have Him manifested by stirring up ourselves by speaking in tongues.

The works of the new testament can only be successfully done by applying new testament principles.
