This may seem like a odd question to ask but who really started this tithing trend. My inspiration concerning this issue comes directly from the bible.

When talk about start, we talking about origin which is " within". Their was an event in the old testament about the children of Israel. They had just gotten out of Egypt and moses had just gone up to the mountain to bring God's law. The people met with Aaron and said make for us a golden calf. (Money and food translated).

Note: the children aproached the priest first.

Aaron then told them to bring out their Gold. I will stop here for now.

The origin of giving or tithing is not from the bible, but direct from the heart. The isrealites saw the wealth of Egypt and wanted a God similar to that. Moses had gone up to bring them the real God. But they already had a God made in their mind (man made god).

In the same vain, we could easily had seen the wealth of the world and wanted similar. The priest knows our deepest thought and so naturally would fashion a God after that image for us. WHICH IS NOW THE GOD OF PROSPERITY. This is the God we now serve just as the god the is isrealite would have wanted back then.

Notice that everything that is happening in the now is not new, they had happened in the past. Man nature is constant.


This is why it easy to draw similarities between what happened then and what is happening now. You and I made our selves slaves, because of the kind of God we wanted in our heart. The truth is that it was not the priest who started all of this . It started In our hearts all of us.

In other to build this god for us, the priest would require our golds and silver. This is where we are now.
