Your e-mail account password gives access to all your confidential and informal messages both received and sent items. You were also advised not to disclose your Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) card pin to anyone. Why would you not like your fiance or fiancee, husband or wife, boyfriend or girlfriend to read your mails or withdraw from your account with your ATM?

That is the answer & not the question.

I think it's only my dad that knows my ATM pass and the possibility of my dad dupping me is 0/100. For girl friend, i wil be d last person on earth to do that. I rather show it to my sister than gfriend.

I will give my husband my ATM number and my email address because I do not have anything to hide, but will set up a email account for MY GIRLFRIENDS BECAUSE if they are confiding in me I will not give it to my husband for he don't need to know what my girlfriends issues are.

Hello Sizzler,

He is my fiance and we discussed this. We have trust for each other. I use my old email address for my girlfriends and he use his old emails for friends. We both have an email account for both of our use.

If you dont have trust, you dont have much of a relationship.

He told me he TRUST ME COMPLETELY, and so do I. He even left his email account open one time and I did not look into it because we have trust.

That has got to be the foolish any woman/man can ever do.
What happens after the break up? undecided
It takes a no -brainer to do something like that anyway, I wouldn't do something as dumb as that.
But some foolish men/women can.

I would gladly give my husband or boyfriend my email account password(s) but not my atm password(s).   Equally, I wouldn't expect my husband or boyfriend to give me his atm password but would expect him to give me his email account password(s).  In my line of work I have seen too many instances of couples splitting up and one party discovers  that the other party has cleaned out the bank account(s) prior to announcing the split.  Thus, I do not believe in having only a joint account as a couple.  Sure, we can both open an account together to pool money for bills, entertainment etc but I think that each should maintain their own personal accounts.  Heck, we could just keep two seperate accounts and just decide ahead of time who will be responsible for which bill(s) and simple pay them from our individual accounts.   grin Not everyone may share this ideology but again, in my line of work I've seen the financial and other horrific devastation that can occur when couples stop being nice and things turn ugly.   Not a pretty picture.

If u trust your partner and you've got nothing to hide, fine. The major problem is the uncertainty of whether the relationship will lead to marriage or not. For married couple, no excuse.

i strongly recommend different accounts too. i was watching Clark Howard the other day and a woman had the guts to report her hubby that he does not allow her spend money like she use to and that she likes to shop alot and it is causing a strain on their relationship. meanwhile they have a mortgage to pay, car, light, water and other bills. i guess she expected him to pay for those bills while she shop with her money

Hello Sizzler,

He told me he TRUST ME COMPLETELY, and so do I.  He even left his email account open one time and I did not look into it because we have trust.

@ poster  and SIZZLER, i've done that before( gave her my atm pin) and opened an email addy for her which i still had the password, i later changed my atm pin, but i hardly checked the email box i opened for her out of the TRUST i had thinking she wouldnt do anything silly as someone i wanted to marry, but one day when i returned from a field job offshore, i just checked her email but i was shocked to see that my own GIRLFRIEND of two years was  seeing her EX, exchanging romantic emails and also planning to travel out to meet him, when i confronted her bout it she denied, i was so angry and the following week she brought a letter on valz day that she's walking out of the relationship and that she has sold off an investment of bout 700k which i opened for her, i think i may have to post some of the mails she exchanged with HER EX on this forum as a learning point while also taking privacy into consideration by not showing their email addresses, you can read more on that here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-399786.0.html
So please i dont advise anyone to TRUST blindly as  you can never tell what could be happening behind your back, despite the fact that  relationship needs TRUST for it to thrive but you should always keep some level of suspicion. Some GIRLS could really be very UNPREDICTABLE.

The moderators wont allow me post the mails they exchanged tho their email addresses werent shown but the bottom line is never TRUST SO BLINDLY TO REVEAL SUCH SENSITIVE INFO AS YOUR PASSWORDS AND ATM PIN UNLESS YOU ARE DOUBLE SURE YOU WONT BE DISSAPOINTED BY THE PERSON YOU ARE REVEALING IT TO.

Re: Can You Tell Your Partner Your E-mail Account Password & Your Atm Card Pin? by Tatase(f): 8:18pm On Apr 01, 2010
In theory, I could tell a spouse (not a boyf). But it would be very unlikely, it would have to be like a specific situation like maybe if I wasn't able to check my email myself or get money out of the atm myself or something; I would never do that randomly as an expression of trust or love or something.

There's nothing funky going on in my e-mail but I think everyone deserves a little space of their own, even in a relationship.
Re: Can You Tell Your Partner Your E-mail Account Password & Your Atm Card Pin? by queeneve: 8:38pm On Apr 01, 2010
Eazy,

Women are not the only ones that are unpredicatable, MEN ARE SO UNPREDICTABLE, YOU HAVE TO WEAR LIFEJACKET TO STAY AFLOAT,

I will keep my own personal emails of my friends and so is my fiance. We will both share a family email where all the family memebers in our household will share emails that directed toward the family. Personal emails will be in our individual boxes. TRUST is a big thing in my fiance and I futuere marriage. We trust each other completetly and I am not worrying about anything so is He. If you have to doubt or worry, then don't marry that person!
