Whatever we offered to God must be sanctified by the holy ghost to be accepted .

Romans 15:16
16 That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost

Tithe is a sacrifice?
Was this verse talking about tithes?
Offering up of Gentiles
What does that mean?
This is why I asked people to think before speaking on this thread.
Do you understand what the verse you quoted is talking about?
It is talking of the Gentiles as the offering not their possessions or money. .
People offering themselves not their things or their money
If you don't know be silent don't ridicule yourself

Whatver you give to God is an offering either its money or your work of service. gifts ,tithes offering, praise ,worship ,alms. So its not everything you give to God that is accepted. if you give with wrong motive,or grudgingly or in bitterness etc. what you give to God must be sanctified by the holyghost. The principle has been there from the days of Cain and Abel.
'Paul was making reference to his assignment as his offering to God. his sacrifice thus must be sanctified by the spirit. jesus offering of himself must be sanctified by the holyghost also

Hebrews 9:14
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself . .

No offering is defined in the law you need to read the bible properly. Tithes are not offerings.
Please stop talking ignorantly. You must remember the bible was not written in English.but Hebrew and Greek.

Tithes are definitely NOT offerings
Paul was not talking about HIS offering.
With respect you are completely misguided. How can Paul offer another person? ??
Can anyone offer you?

Anything you offer to God is still an offering . Either its tithes or prayers , praises , worship intercession etc , we offer him our praise just as we offer him tithes .but tithe of tithe was a heave offering under the law if you want me to be more specific

Numbers 18:26
26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the Lord, even a tenth part of the tithe

Argue with the scripture not with me. why do we dedicate children? we offer them to God. Paul saw his salvation work among the Gentile as his offering. a man may say . i will deliver this city to God and cause the name of christ to be named upon every home in this city. understand it from that perspective

You are just widening the discussion to irrelevant issue so you are jumping from tithe to offering to dedication.
What is dedication? Can you define that and reference that in the bible.
Is a child the same as an adult.
Why don't you dedicate adults would be my response to why do you dedicate children.
The scripture you mentioned you are quoting out of context.
It has nothing to do with tithe or this thread so please be silent and stop derailing the thread
You quote Romans. 15.16 without reference to the verses before and after.

[Paul the Minister to the Gentiles
14 I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. 15 Yet I have written you quite boldly on some points to remind you of them again, because of the grace God gave me 16 to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

17 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. 18 I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— 19 by the power of signs and wonders, through the power of the Spirit of God. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ. 20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation. 21 Rather, as it is written:

“Those who were not told about him will see,
and those who have not heard will understand.”

22 This is why I have often been hindered from coming to you.

The point of which is about Gentiles being accepted by God against opposition from Jews at the time.
Here we are talking about tithe and you are talking about dedication

Paul is talking of all Gentiles for ever and ever.
Are you telling us that Paul sacrificed you to God?.
Let us stick to tithes and not wander off
THAT SCRIPTURE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TITHE

It is obvious that you opened this thread not because you're willing to learn, but your heart has been hardened against tithing and against the church therefore it is of no importance to try to explain these things to you given that you don't have the spiritual ability to understand it.

Fellow Christians on nairaland I urge you to quit dignifying this post with a response and instead pray for the op that his heart may be opened to receive God's Word

None of them collects tithes.

Monetary tithes in the church is a scam...

By the way, Christians who think tithing is compulsory for God's blessings at not too clear on what applies to Judaism and what applies to Christianity...hence, they are practicing what I call Judeo-Christianity out of confusion...
