The Centre for Social and Digital Media Research
and Training has said it would embark on a national
training on social and digital media marketing for
Nigerians.
The Coordinator of the Center, Olanrewaju Oyedeji,
said they are targeting 10,000 Nigerian youths for
the programme.
“We are focusing on training Nigerians on how to
use social media and digital media for the growth
of the country including how to be self -sufficient
using digital and social media marketing,” he said.
Oyedeji said the importance of social and digital
media cannot be under-emphasized especially with
the growing technology in many parts of the world.
“ Everyday, if you watch the world trend, billions of
dollars is spent yearly by companies across the
world on advertising. We are building a structure in
which youths would become self- sustaining with
what they know about social and digital media
marketing after the training. We are also calling on
various departments and agencies to support
efforts at revolutionalizing technology more in
Nigeria by using the social and digital media,” he
added.
Oyedeji said the Centre would use offline and online
medium of training for the programme.
“We have been training people since 2016. In
December 2017 we trained over 200 youths on
social and digital marketing and we have
commenced same in January 2018. We are also
sending our team to campuses around. We are
