Last Sunday, 7 January, I woke up to a bird surprisingly trapped by a mouse glue board I actually set to catch mischievous rats. My surprise cleared when it occurred to me that the board was kept in the veranda, and I know birds do perch on the iron protector at the veranda. So the bird must have flown in in the morning, and got attracted to a cockroach's carcass on the board.

I carried the board together with the trapped bird to the rooftop. I lifted the bird off the board. Its legs and wings were ruffled. And some bits of the feathers withered. The bird was so weak. I thought it would die. I kept it at the rooftop.

In the evening, I went to where I had kept it. I was expecting to see its carcass, considering how weak it appeared when I kept it there. It's nowhere to be seen! I concluded it must gathered strength and flown away.

It's good it achieved survival.

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.

Glue traps are dangerous, you end up trapping animals you don't intend to, including people's pets..get a walk the plank trap from Ali express, or build it yourself, lace it with peanut butter, watch rats disappear from your house..
