Dear nairalander, your advise, opinion and help would be highly appreciated. On 6th december 2018, i got a job as a security operative in one private security firm located at the outskirt of ogun state but I got it through their training manager in lagos.
I started work a 24hours and 1day of work. I was loyal, punctual, dedicated and strive to perform my task better. I have to trek 1hr 10mins to and fro from work sometimes without food but I endure because I believe in working than begging for food.
The problem started after I had exhausted my means of sustenance. Even no one was willing to borrow me money. So, I asked my company for IOU until the end of the month. I am suppose to work(15) 24hours in a month. SALARY: 17500. IOU asked was 3k to 5k. And i have worked (8 )24hours. I begged and spoke with each of the staff from training mngr to opm manager but i was left stranded on 22nd dec 2018. Then i learnt this company is fond of owing workers. Then i felt neglected and cheated of my time. So i left with their 3 opt uniform and a phone worth less than 1k but in january i return the uniform after they persuaded me. but i still hold on to the phone for communcation with them. Now they are threatening me because of the phone. pls what do i do now
CC: The name of the company is witheld for security reason.

Oga is the phone your? Or does it worth the amount you are supposed to be paid? Why not go and return whatever belong to them and fight for how you will get your money that u av worked for. Don't spoil the reputation of the person who got the job for you in case you dont want to protect urs.

Why not relate with the person who linked u up with the job? And if they persist not to pay, I'll say u leave them to God cos the money involved is not up to what you can hire a lawyer for.
