Thats Good, If u can do math, its only an infection rate of 0.73% 15,000,000(Lagos current population) = 100% 110,000 = 0.73% Therefore your risk of actually having sex with someone with the disease is very low Note that in washington D.C the rate is as high as 40%(For sexually active adults) and in southern africa its much worse all the same, If in doubt,put your thing in a wrap |

ziga: paddy_lo: Your analysis is wrong. 110,000 out of those that were tested are positive. Until you know how many were tested, you can not say acurately how bad or good the news is. May be only 200,000 people were tested but I doubt that the estimated +15 million in Lagos were tested. |

Your analysis is wrong. Where exactly is this news, wheres the link, and who are these ppl tested? was it voluntary, was it high risk commercial workers? Isnt it illegal to release test results to the public? anyway i still think HIV infection rates in Nigeria is very low. . . . probably @2%- 4% of total population |

ziga: how can u say it is a good number. the test is still going on. mind u 1.it is just from the few that came to do the test. 2. this excludes those that knows they are already positive that wont come out again for the test since they knw their status. 3.there are so millions out there that are still afraid to do the test. 4. all those that tested positive are still sexually active ( warning) |

Chookym: I have heard of circumcision assisting the spread of aids but that is true as long as there is no bruising during or before sex. With bruising, the chances of catching HIV increases dramatically. |

Chookym: Making condoms should not stop a corporate body from finding a cure. Any company/individual who finds a cure first is bound to reap enormous revenues. Take a look at pfizer with Viagra. Having said that, perhaps it is more profitable to sell condoms than to find a cure since most of those in need of a cure are poor africans. |

Poor Africans as you call them are responsible for spreading AIDS by being irresponsible If they could find a cure they would as that would also be a bigger money spinner. Condoms were originally intended to stop pregnancy, not AIDS. Condoms are a business in their own right, without AIDS! |
