Why Do I Act This Way? by Elparaiso(m): 5:30pm On Jan 25, 2018
My problem is almost too simple, I just want to understand the reason behind it.
I've noticed that I speak differently to different people. Try hard as I can, there are people I can't bring myself to converse in pidgin with. While there are people I can't even use proper grammar with, even when I know they're educated. I used to brush it off with the excuse that sometimes, I talk with people with different educational backgrounds. Then I noticed that I can't speak pidgin in front of some of my friends, but these same people will go full Warri with the people I go full Warri with. It's not a matter of acting posh in front of girls, I do it with guys too. It's almost like I have different personalities for different people.

I just want to know why.

It's not a matter of being myself. I'm fluent in English and Pidgin. I just don't know why I can only use pidgin with person A, when I could also use English.

First off, we ain't psychologist over here, we're romantic. (Wait! Did you just feel my rhymes?? grin)

It's just how you feel around them. The more relaxed you feel around said folks, the more relaxed you'll act around them, even to your utterances.

I tear pidgin with some gees and can't dare speak pidgin with others.

When you have no problems, you create some for yourself. Even silly ones like why does 'b' come after 'a'

Your problem is a problem cheesy

Thank you so much! I don't know why I didn't go to Quora before. I didn't want to bring up the accent like that Thai woman, but it's also part of my problem too.
Thanks again.

What's the problem? You act like every educated person in Nigeria so i don't understand why you think this is a problem? Don't think too much or you'll get Analysis paralysis #rhythm wink

undecided undecidedop, it's almost like u treating people differently and u don't know why. well, I'd say it's d vibe. u see, Alot of people gives us many reasons to be free with them and feel comfortable around them, but most times we don't feel it. it's a common occurrence...... nothing to get "worried" about, we can't speak pidgin to everyone, likewise Confam inglis.... it's not about how they present themselves, it's about how we feel about them. and these feelings sometimes change when we become closer..

Ehen...... NEXT!!!
