Yeah, let the political liabilities - Sarakis and Milayes defect.
They can tear their party card like Obj did in 2014/2015

Not that they matter anyway nor many of them for that matter.
Keep on deceiving yourself may be they are political liabilities come 2019 things would definitely take shape.

In as much as Buhari has turned out to be a colossal disappointment as president, I am afraid that OBJ's call for a 'third force' may end up brightening his chances of reelection and here's why I think so. It's almost too late to put together a formidable enough third-force that can unseat the current administration. That's just the truth.

Putting together a strong enough party platform to attain such a feat requires a lot of organization, horse-trading, high-wired politicking, and clear/competent political actors who are willing to commit and stake their political future toward such an entreprise.

Besides, I suspect that Obj is just playing to the gallery as usual, and that his real aim may be to dilute Atiku's potential votes in the upcoming elections in the likely event that he secures the PDP ticket. Baba is reputed to be a very vindictive and unforgiving fellow who has shown little sign of having forgiven Atiku for whatever offence he may have committed against him.

A 'third-force' would most likely hurt PDP more than APC as such a party would cut and eat into the main opposition party's votes.

And lastly, Buhari's men are in on the plan now, and will use every means at their disposal (including federal might) to ensure that the proposed 'third-force' project does not see the light of day.

it is good for our democracy.

This coalition for Nigeria looks very promising
Buhari's major power in terms of vote is from the North at least that's what he boldly stated when he visited Kano state.
This matter is very simple. Cajole and convince Kwakwanso and then get Donald Duke as a running mate. Work don finish be that.

Re: Obasanjo’s Letter: Mass Defection Looms In National Assembly by Reference(m): 11:15am On Jan 28, 2018
Once again the ignorance of our folks led by the very definition of 'the owner of Nigeria' has spoken and has started acting in ignorance once again. One thing for sure, the salvation of this country remains an illusion. By these thoughts and acts it is certain we have no future.

To liberate a man's body or situation without first liberating his mind is futile because it is his mind that creates his being, that develops his surroundings and leads him from encounter to encounter in a habitual fashion that determines his life's experiences.

If we cannot surmount the mental prison that thinks all our problems are created by Jonathan and sustained by Buhari....two Nigerians out of 180 million.... and that to solve them we need yet another change of alphabets from PDP to APC and now to XYZ, then we are not mentally capable of having a better country than this.

If we as a people cannot think through our challenges, identify our pitfalls and develop solutions then our experiences as a nation simply cannot be bettered.

I have said it countless times. A Jonathan or Buhari can conveniently lead the United States, Germany or Japan. Barack Obama or Angela Merkel on the other hand CANNOT fundamentally change Nigeria even with all the goodwill and prayers of the people....if they cannot identify AMONGST THEMSELVES what the requirements for change truly are.

Thus the problem is not with the players or the clubs, it is with the game and its rules. Change leadership all you want, change political parties every four years, if this country is not restructured the only folks to gain are media houses and jingles and printers and poster makers and ad companies.

The very mental block that cannot make us look at this country holistically, honestly and free of bias and profer solutions out of an abundance of patriotism and a heart of true sacrifice is the key to our future, successful or not.

Nuff said. May the likes of Obasanjo continue to lead his cattle by the nose ring to the slaughter time and again till his dying day. That is our portion. It is now I am beginning to understand how the trans-atlantic and trans-saharan slave trade happened. Slavery is not the victory of the strong over the weak. It is the victory of the cunny over the determined and damned to be foolish.

This is why i detest some Nigerians. Let me ask pertinent questions

Has APC failed, Yes
Has PDP failed Yes

Do you want a better Nigeria Yes

then why are u bringing up negatives?...we shud start crowd funding for this new coalition cus that seems to be the answer now. I cant go back to PDP GOD forbid, and i cant stay under APC with their murderous, nepotistic, recession ridden rule.

I swear instead of giving my bae 50,000 to go to NYSC i will give this new coalition 50,000; then i can proudly say "i am protecting my investment". If Nigeria gets a decent leader things will get much better that is a fact

APC boasts of idiots like ajumobi, okorocha, dalung...PDP boasts of thugs like wike. infact APC is PDP unchained, why shud Nigeria be doing the same thing and expect different result.

I know it is impossible for this new coalition to be devoid of APC and PDP members, but we can pick them like beans, boil the ones we can manage and dispose the chaff

I am doing this for my children, Nigeria cant be good in my lifetime; but if i can make it a little softer for my kids then i can die a happy man....i have a dream that by 2022 our children will no longer shout "Up NEPA" when power supply is on, cus it is because power is scarce that is why we celebrate its coming on...we can make it happen people lets do this

Atiku's defection from APC to PDP was thought by some folks that this will lead to massive defection of APC members to PDP. So now that it did not work out as thought their attention have now move to the Obasanjo's letter which will fail as usual as far as it is about Buhari till 2023 election bid. Baba carry go! no shaking till 2023.
Re: Obasanjo’s Letter: Mass Defection Looms In National Assembly by ItsMeAboki(m): 11:26am On Jan 28, 2018
Mere speculation and wishful thinking, as they are already out of time because it is simply impractical for any new party (whether currently set up or hijacked) to effectively set up a national structure sufficient enough to challenge the incumbent president and his ruling party - all they can do is merely effect some local damage but not overall change; Buhari is still poised to win the next election, irrespective of the campaign of calumny, especially as the thorny issue of the economy and infrastructure (which matter to most) are already picking up.

Wailers will unfortunately have even more reasons to wail and die young - so sad.

Put together properly, a viable third force would poach from APC and PDP adding also part of the over 50 political parties. Such a momentum would sweep the political landscape like a hurricane.

My exact thoughts too. This so-called Third Force could merge with 70+ other parties, and receive funding from the likes of OBJ, IBB and Dangote in order to become formidable next year.

Moreover, I also believe it is the fall-back option of both Donald Duke and Dankwambo, should neither of them get the PDP nomination. Atiku has a lock on the PDP nomination only because OBJ is no longer a member of the party, and a lot of the present PDP governors are sympathetic to his ambition.

Obasanjo is no political force.

He was president of Nigeria for eight years but could not effect political restructuring of Nigeria.

Obasanjo helped Arewa to conquer Biafra and by extension, rest of southdouth and crude oil, for Arewa, but Obadanjo went asleep after the war as northern generals wrongly used land mass as yardstick and created twenty new political units in one northern region, but created only seventeen political units in the two southern regions; whereas the two southern regions entered into independent Nigeria with the north on equal partners basis.

Given the over bloated number of twenty states in Fulani-controlled north, Obasanjos new party cannot stop even a cow from northern region from winning a professor of law from the south in Nigeria's presidential election, once Fulani insists that the president must come from the north.
A presidential candidate must win 25% votes in 24 states before the candidate can be declared winner.

Obasanjo knows that he is merely making noise.

First Restructure Nigeria politically before any coalition or election of 2019.

You have points up there, but am sure members of this apc would not want to join the third force because it is clear that OBJ would want to have a total control. Obj being and known as a tribal, indescipline etc. man will not want to join him. We remember when he want to apppoint about twelves ministers in GEJ tenure. Many Nigerians know who OBJ is. Am sure they will undermine him. Pdp, to me may come out cleaner with or wothout obj.

He was relaxed, confident, kept drinking stout and Otobolising. In the end, pigs could not deliver him and the idiot was sent back to continue drinking in Otuoke. grin grin grin grin

Obasanjo is one of the problems in this country. he thinks he knows everything, and that's why he even wanted to have a third term. A third term that would have made him perpetuate himself in power like the ousted Mugabe because I font see how he would have succeeded in getting a third term and not want a 4th term. Anyways that one don pass.

I totally agree with your summation, its what I have been telling my friends too. The 3rd force is quite late.

every time buhari had lost an election he had 12million votes, we just have to have a credible consensus candidate to send this dullard back to where he belongs.

True PDP is the only party that has the structure to beat APC now, but they will have to do a lot of work especially with whomever will be presented.

The thing is once we are divided down south with CN, PDP and any other party, oga dullard will be sure of his 12million votes.
