UPIB, one of the newly established private Universities in Benin Republic, is recruiting both the Academic Staff and non Academic Staff into various positions.

TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES
(a) Senior Lecturers, (b) Lecturers I, (c) Lecturers II and (d) Assistant Lecturers and in the following departments and areas:
1. Business Administration
2. Accounting
3. Political Science and International Studies
4. Economics
5. English and Literary Studies
6. Nursing Science
7. Medical Laboratory Science
8. Computer Science
9. Entrepreneurship Studies

QUALIFICATIONS
(a)Senior Lecturer
At least six (6) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a tertiary institution. Candidates must have evidence of at least eight (cool scholarly publications in both local and international reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
(b) Lecturer I
at least three (3) years post-doctoral teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions, with evidence of at least four (4) journals articles in reputable learned journals, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable. Candidates with MA/MSc with at least six (6) years post qualification teaching and administrative experience in tertiary institution, six (6) journal articles, evidence of PhD registration or Master’s CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0 may also apply.
(c) Lecturer II
Candidates should possess the same qualifications as (d) above or MA/MSc with three (3) years teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institution, PhD registration or Master’s CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0 and at least one journal publication, plus registration with relevant professional bodies where applicable.
(d) Assistant Lecturer
Candidates should be holders of MA/MSc Degree in relevant fields with clear evidence of registration for a PhD programme or Masters CGPA of not less than 4.0/5.0. Registration with relevant professional bodies, where applicable, will be an added advantage.
(e) Graduate Assistant
Candidate must be holders of first degree with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) in relevant fields

SENIOR NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES:
There exist vacancies for non-teaching positions in the different departments/units as listed below:
1. REGISTRY
(a) Administrative Assistants
(b) Confidential Secretary I
(c) Confidential Secretary II
QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Administrative Officer
Three (3) years cognate experience, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language, but be proficient in oral and written English Language.

(b) Administrative Assistant
Qualifications are the same as for Administrative Officer.

(c) Confidential Secretary I
The Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in Secretarial Studies passed at minimum of Lower Credit level, with six (6) years experience plus demonstrable ability for 60 words speed per minute in typing plus computer literacy. Also the candidate must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least 5 credits including English Language, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language, but be proficient in oral and written English Language.


(d) Confidential Secretary II
The Candidate must possess National Diploma (ND) in Secretarial Studies passed at minimum of Lower Credit level, with a demonstrable ability for 50 words speed per minute in typing, with three (3) years cognate experience, plus computer literacy. Also the candidate must have WASC/SSCE/GCE with at least 5 credits including English Language, in addition, the candidate should not only have a credit in English Language, but be proficient in oral and written English Language.

2. BURSARY
(a) Deputy Bursar
(b) Chief Accountant
(c) Principal Accountant
(d) Senior Accountant
(e) Accountant I
(f) Accountant II

QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Deputy Bursar Candidate should possess a B.Sc. Degree/HND in Accounting, plus fifteen (15) years cognate experience, out of which nine (9) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution. Candidate should be registered with relevant professional bodies

(b) Chief Accountant
Candidate should possess a B.Sc. Degree/HND in Accounting, plus twelve (12) years cognate experience, out of which six (6) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution. Candidate should be registered with relevant professional bodies.

(c) Principal Accountant
Candidate should possess same as (a) above but with nine (9) years cognate experience out of which four (4) years must have been spent in a tertiary institution and registered with relevant professional bodies.

(d) Senior Accountant
Candidate should possess good Honours degree/HND in Accounting, plus six (6) years post-qualification experience, out of which (4) must have been spent in a tertiary institution and registered with relevant professional bodies.

(e) Accountant I
Candidate should have at least a B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, plus three (3) years post-qualification experience plus membership of relevant professional bodies.

(f) Accountant II
Candidate should possess a good Honours degree in Accounting from recognised University.

3. INTERNAL AUDIT
(a) Principal Internal Auditor
(b) Senior Internal Auditor
QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Principal Internal Auditor
Candidate should possess a good University Degree or HND in Accounting, plus nine (9) years of post-qualification experience with membership of any relevant professional body.

(b) Senior Internal Auditor (CONTISS II 09)
Same as (a) above with six (6) years post-qualification experience.

4. UNIVERSITY LIBRARY
(a) Deputy Librarian
(b) Principal Librarian
(c) Senior Librarian
(d) Librarian I
(e) Library Officer

QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Deputy Librarian
Candidates shall possess a Master’s degree in Library and information Science or equivalent postgraduate professional qualification with fifteen (15) years academic library experience. He/she must show ability to initiate and improve library services and possess scholarly publications in reputable journals. Possession of a PhD will be an advantage. Membership of Librarian registration council of Nigeria is required.

(b) Principal Librarian
Candidate should have a Master’s degree in Library and information Science, plus eight (cool publications five of which must be journals. He/she must also be a member of Librarian registration council of Nigeria. Nine (9) years cognate experience is required.

(c) Senior Librarian
Candidate must possess the same as (a) above but with four (4) articles in reputable journals, and six (6) years cognate experience. Membership of Librarian registration council of Nigeria is required.

(d) Librarian I
Candidate must possess the same as (a) above but with four (2) articles in reputable journals, and three (3) years cognate experience. Membership of Librarian registration council of Nigeria is required

(e) Library Officer
Candidate must possess National Diploma (ND) in Library and Information Science. Computer literacy is an added advantage.

5. SECURITY
(a) Chief Security Officer
(b) Security Officers II

QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Chief Security Officer
Candidate should possess a good honours degree from a recognised University and should be at least a retired Superintendent of Police or its equivalent in the Armed Forces and must have at least 12 years working experience.

(b) Security Officer II
Candidate must be an ex-Inspector of Police or its equivalent in the Armed Forces with at least eight (cool years’ experience. In addition candidates must also have five credits including English Language at not more than two sittings in WEAC, NECO or GCE.

6. HEALTH CENTRE
(a) Principal Medical Officer
(b) Senior Medical Officer
(c) Senior Pharmacist
(d) Senior Nursing Officer
(e) Nursing Officer I
(f) Nursing Officers

QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Principal Medical Officer
Candidates must possess MBBS plus nine (9) years post-houseman ship experience, candidates must also have postgraduate training in Public Health, Community Health and Family Medicine or General Medicine. Registration with Nigerian Medical and Dental Council is required.


(b) Senior Medical Officer
Candidates must possess MBBS plus three (3) years residency/post-houseman ship experience; or MBBS plus Diploma in a medically related discipline. Evidence of registration with the NMDC is also required.

(c) Senior Pharmacist
Candidate must possess B. Pharm. or B.Sc. Pharmacy from a recognized University plus full time registration with the Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria. Candidates must also have three years post-registration experience.

(d) Senior Nursing Officer
Candidates must have NRCN or NRM plus six (6) years post-registration or specialist qualification in intensive care nursing, coronary care nursing or public health; or Bachelor of Nursing plus three (3) years post-qualification experience.

(e) Nursing Officer I
The same as for Senior Nursing Officer but with four (4) years post-qualification experience.

(f) Nursing Officers
Candidates must possess NRCN or NRM qualification.

7. PUBLIC RELATIONS/INFORMATION AND PROTOCOL UNIT
(a) Principal Public Relations Officer

QUALIFICATIONS
(a) Principal Public Relations Officer
Candidate should possess a good honours degree from a recognised University in Mass Communication, Public Relations or other relevant degrees in the Humanities or Social Sciences with at least nine (9) years cognate experience plus evidence of registration with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); or master’s degree in the relevant field with at least six (6) years cognate experience plus evidence of membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
