A REJOINDER TO THE TRASH TITLED "AUCHI POLYTECHNIC; ANOTHER OKIJA SHRINE, AND CENTRE OF MONUMENTAL FRAUD" by one Okhumeode Lawrence Aliu.
INTRODUCTION
My reaction at first was to ignore the clearly evil intended and poorly written trash because I did not want to help the writer achieve his obvious goals of relevance and mischief making. On a deeper reflection I decided to respond to it for the following reasons;
- To further expose the already very obvious evil intent of the pseudo and poorly educated author.
- To further show the unforgivable poor nature of the work
- To expose (to the few that do not already know) the goose of the faceless and cowardly author and his/her sponsors.
- to give an insight into what currently is happening in the institution, so that the seekers of truth will decipher what is at stake.
DECEPTIVE HEADING
Firstly, the title of the piece clearly shows how mischievous and evil intentioned the author is. If the author had revealed his/her true identity, we could have researched to know whether he is a paid agent, a corrupt societal misfit, an ignoramus or simply a deeply frustrated mischievous fellow. Nonetheless, the possibilities are not beyond what has been stated above.
For those who are familiar with the infamous okija shrine episode, they will easily detect that the very false and wicked conjectures and mudslinging content of the piece do not add up. How do I mean? One would have expected to read in the trash that there is now frequent or widespread human sacrifices in the polytechnic. What he had in mind obviously that led him to the wicked title is the death of a non staff of the institution at far away Abuja and a laughable account of cult sacrifice in the polytechnic. Frankly, the wickedness and desperation of the author is simply annoyingly boundless. If a person wants people to be using for sacrifices, is he going to use his friends? If the helmsman of the institution has been diabolically killing or terrorizing anybody can he/she point at any amongst his open opposers? Has anyone of them died mysteriously? If accusing fingers would be pointed at any direction it should be at that of his known evil and rudely desperate detractors. Anyway, my point here is essentially that, the title of the piece clearly shows the evil(which probably blindfolded all senses of logical reasoning) of the author.

There are a lot of bareface lies, half truths on the issues of students' ID cards and faceoff between the school's management and some members of the erstwhile student union government. I believe the government and all genuine lovers of truth know better. It is instructive to also mention that Samson Okoduwa's fallout with the management is foundationally on selfish grounds. He has also allowed himself to be used as a toothless, tasteless attack bulldog by selfish detractors of the administration. My interest is in developmental writings and not destructive writings. So, I would not want to start wasting resources arguing with an agent of destruction. To prove my point, my simple questions for the writer are: What is the goal of publishing the writeup? Is it for the good of the school or the country at large? Is the body or people you claim to be writing for not laughable? Is there any organization by the name "Concerned staff and students?" Why are you destroying the hard earned image of the school with wicked but obviously unintelligible fabrications? If you have any tangible evidence of the acting rector's crime why not forward to the appropriate government agencies and follow it up? Because you have non, you have shamelessly resorted to self destructive campaign of calumny for a reason that I will mention later. Why must we continue to dissipate valuable energy on destructive activities? When will we, in this country, stop vexing because of a fellows achievement? When will we stop fighting other people for clannish reasons? When will we all for once accept a positive change and shun our old corrupt ways? For me, these are the issues at stake. No one should be fooled to think that the writer's intention is altruistic. There is nothing noble about it. It is as evil, wicked, barbaric and ant- progress as it appears, if not worse. All people of goodwill should denounce, resist and speak against such ''pull him down at all cost" tendencies. Our philosophy should be "live and let's live". I advice the writer to keep pride aside, heed my advice and turn a new live by working towards more useful endeavors instead of allowing him/herself to be used to retard development and progress which he/she is failing woefully to achieve.
WHAT THE ISSUES ARE
furthermore, in case you do not know, it may interest you to know that the source of the fictional writeup is either from lieutenants of the immediate past corrupt head of the school(not in acting capacity) who had vowed that the current occupant of the rector's seat will never occupy it because of her hatered for the the individual and the community he hails from. Or from some former part-time lecturers of the institution whose appointments were not renewed- the appointment is usually subject to annual renewal. Obviously, like I noted before, the intentions of the author is far from altruism and nobility. It is sadly about misplaced hatred and vendatta.
WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THE POLYTECHNIC NOW
candidly, the level of corruption in terms of blocking and sex for marks has drastically decline. They were, before the coming of the current helmsman, endemic in the system. What do you expect from a people who see lecturing as a ticket to illicit money and 'free girls?' Your guess is as good as mine!
The love for excellence and scholarship of the current rector of the polytechnic is eloquently attested to by his insistence that only candidates with Second class upper and above for university graduates and upper credit and above for polytechnic graduates would now lecture at the School of Evening Studies - This is a sharp departure from the past were credentials were not even screened. And that the entire examination and assessment process is standardized. That the rector is a saint is not true. That he has the credentials, capacity and intention to improve on the school's system are truths. It is inconceivable that a man will want to destroy the only and highest fedral institution in his country home.
MY APPEAL
For disciples of the old administration that are still bent on seeing the downfall and total collapse of the institution so that the world would say that Dr Sanusi M. Jimah is incompetent and hence not fit for confirmation as substantive rector, my advice is, "continue", for you will see how humiliated you will be in the end. Are you God? By God's grace the rectorship of Auchi Polytechnic is settled. So, simply allow God's will to prevail or...
Now, to the former part-time lecturers. For those of you who were not qualified credential wise, please blame no one. For those who were qualified but have very bad records of incompetence and Corruption, please blame no one. For those who have the qualifications and are convinced that their track record is enviable, let them blame the old administration which failed to absorb them into the mainstream even when many opportunities came up. It is pertinent to note that the entire part-time system was in disarray, if truth be told. My prayer for you is that the Almighty will make a way out for you if you turn back to Him. No need for all this brouhaha.
CONCLUSION
Lastly, let's all support the current helmsman in his resolute efforts to reposition the institution for more greatness. He has the capacity, the credentials, the will and intention to do it. In the process there will be some pains and collateral damages, but it is all part of the price for positive change for the greatest amount of good for the greatest number of people.
