dude, I drove around ibadan yesterday testing their speed at many location and even at their office where I switched the sim on fulll bar.
My speed didn't go beyond 18-20mb/s while their 3g was even crossing 25mb/s

There is nothing like that, unless you are referring to HSDPA or HSPA+ which are rated 3.5G.

For someone who has used all other networks except Airtel, I was pleasantly surprised with the speed of their 4G network as soon as I switched it on. Its stable and fast.

Why so long, they disappointed us and their self. The world is now on 5g.

Agreed, in US they do that as well. The telecomm providers are very powerful, sometimes trying to influence 3gpp.

HSPA is 3gpp release 7 and it based on GERAN and UTRAN, 3gpp even defined it as GSM/EDGE technology.

LTE at release 10 was not initially coined even a 4G technology as it did not command the speed specifications of 4G. LTE Advance is the true 4G technology, but it looks like the telecomm providers are winning and 3gpp are starting to dummy things down and accepting LTE as 4G.

mtn is actually the only true 4g I have tested. But its in Lagos. I crossed over 80mb on mtn.

What they did is frequency re-firming. It is not true 4G

Airtel for me is actually 3.75G that is H+, I believe 3G still has bands the way 4G has... This is my speed test for Airtel in my area.. I wonder how 4G will be since my sim already has 4G signal and my phone isn't 4G enabled
