SHOPRITE MANAGEMENT is complicit in ripoff against Nigerians - READ as shared by Adewemimo Adebajo.
We know that all agencies thrive on ripping off the Nigerian Public. Even some companies do so, selling at 300 - 400 percent above what is decently available outside the country. However, the staff of Shoprite and Game have decided to join them.

What they do is to add items you didn't buy to your bill. Please always take time to check. A second tactic is to scan a high priced item instead of your item. I believe the shop management is in with them, otherwise they would be unable to reverse the entry and collect the cash, when the customers are gone.

I was in the Shoprite, Palms Mall Lekki, and as usual, practicing my mental addition with stuff I put in my trolley. I got a rough total of N8500. So I go to checkout counter, and the lady there scanned and got N22k+. How come? I had brought two covfefe mugs for N749 each. She had apparently scanned and replaced one of them with a N15K item. Giving me a 22k bill, for 8k worth of stuff. I then saw a 15k item in the printout and I asked which item is 15k? She couldn't produce any item, and called her supervisor. The supervisor came and corrected the entry, saying the bar code sticker on that item was for a different product. This wasn't true as I checked at home and even used my QRcode scanner app on my phone. Both barcodes were identical. So the girl lied, her supervisor lied, and the Shoprite manager must be complicit.

Couple of months back, I ran into a lady at checkout in Game. She sat down after checkout and re- calculated her bill & she found overcharging. According to her, it's a frequent occurrence. The staff were giving her the evil eye but she didn't bat an eyelid. "I work hard for this money, they can't just be stealing it anyhow" she said.

If anyone knows the top management of these two Supermarkets, Shoprite and Game, pls inform them. Their staff are developing a bad reputation for their business. Only God knows how much money has been ripped off Nigerians. What of Spar? Any bad experiences there??
