*** SAY “NO” TO THAT UNBEFITTING STATUS ***

There is this adage that says, “YOU CANNOT GIVE WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE”. It is the gift of God in you that distinguishes you from the others and also give you a level or status that is befitting. When you know who you are and realize that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you, you brace up and confront challenges that stares at you. By so doing, you have rejected the status of a weakling or coward or someone who is easily frightened by circumstances.

At the course of Apostle Paul Missionary journey, he was able to decipher the gift and excellent spirit in Timothy which was lying dormant according to 2 TIMOTHY 1:5-7. He endeared Timothy to stir up the gift of God that is in him for the purpose of putting it into effective use to the glory of God. Apostle Paul even confessed that he had to remember Timothy, his mother (Eunice) and his grandmother (Lois) in prayers always because of this excellent spirit they possessed.

Most times, it is an individual that subjects himself to an unbefitting status due to low self esteem, compromise, lack of faith and fear of unknown. Such an individual acts based on circumstances around him. He lacks self-confidence in himself and trust in God, thus he does not really have a choice or know what he need, so anything goes for him.

Similarly, some people do not realize that both life and death exist in the power of our tongue;
 You can use your tongue to reject the advancement of the enemy when he comes to put your life in a mess and bring you down.
 You can use your tongue to rebuke a disease that threatens to subdue you and give you name that does not belong to you.
 You can use your tongue to reject every evil dream, false prophesy and foul voice speaking into your life.
 You can also use your tongue to quickly and firmly reject any unbefitting status the enemy is trying to subject you into.
The word of God made us to understand that, “FOR GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US THE SPIRIT OF FEAR; BUT OF POWER, AND OF LOVE, AND OF A SOUND MIND (2 TIMOTHY 1:7)”.

You must bear in mind that whenever you find it hard living right, there is every possibility that the devil will attempt to diminish your status. Each time you are tempted to commit sin, a voice would be urging you to move ahead with it and co-operate. The whole idea is to bring you down to an unbefitting level.

As a Chosen, a Royal Priesthood, a Holy Nation, a Child of God, you should know that you are special and you enjoy a superior status (1 PETER 2:9). Please do not engage in acts that will diminish your status, reject whatever does not suit your status and insist on being a superior person…SHALOM!!!
