There is no reason to deny a child access to a smart devices, just make sure that whatever smart device you are getting for them is one that will protect them and give you the parent or guardian the privilege to also monitor their activities.

There are many ways to avoid exposure to porn sites. One of them is via site-locking on the targeted device.

Sleep deprivation is out of the equation as many things tend to deprive us all sleep from time to time.

Ps: do not deny them the opportunity to get acquainted with technology at the early stage. However this should be done with close supervision.

All things have merits and demerits but these are NOT enough reasons to deprive kids of the benefits.

What I did for my kids was to download games/Apps and then disconnect the data. So they can make calls/SMS, play games and use valuable educational Apps without getting exposed to the dark web.

Have defined time tables for them and set sleep time; say 9pm and stick to it.

I don't subscribe to kids owning smart phones. If i want them to get knowledge about technology, they can use my phone for a specific time. But owning theirs...big NO.

Your points say it all. They are not able to handle a lot of things and i would rather not expose them to it at an early stage. I will allow them be kids and enjoy their childhood.

I would rather have them playing in a safe environment than getting glued to one spot to a phone.
