The biggest problem we have in Nigeria is that we do not like to hear the truth
The second, we worship money  and
Thirdly... we are too religious without knowledge we proclaim to hold in extreme.
How can some idiots be killing other citizens in the name of God/Allah or for sacrifice?

I heard an armed robber who said his gang would not go for any armed robbery operation unless they have a go ahead from God after serious prayers!

In political meetings where the plan to rig elections, lies and share blood money, they pray, in motor parks where they perpetrate all sort of crime, they pray, in the offices where the biggest frauds are going on, we pray. I know a Court that would not be opened to lawyers until and unless, at least, 15 minutes special prayers are offered everyday... Annoyingly, they will ask somebody to pray in public function, he will ask everybody to stand up, he will sing for five minutes and pray for ten minutes, binding devil and evils spirits...

The funniest part of it is that you will hear a self style 'Christian' praying like this: ' I pray in the name of God (god) of my Father Bleep Bleep ... (but the Bible says we pray in the name of Jesus)...

Now some over religious individual will misinterpret and lecture me about putting God first...

God!

NB: Moving this country forward might never come to reality except we put aside our religious fanatism and blindness and love for money or worshiping the rich without regards to how they acquired the wealth.

culled.

You are right though , religious fanatics are part of the worst in the country. You can't kill for God , oppress for God , steal for God , cheat or defraud for God. He doesn't consent to it. Some don't read their qurans or bibles they only follow what their pastor says. Read the books and do what it says stop praying to commit crime

hypocrisy is an understatement, you need to see the level of corruption going on in some homes. I have witnessed a scenario where a woman was faulting his 7 year old boy of not increasing a commodity price for a stranger/new customer. There was another case of a father discouraging his son not to return a found purse to the owner. The owner was calling incessantly to the cell.phone found inside the purse ( he claimed since he lost his phone sometime ago and the person who found it wouldn't return it then his son should keep the found purse and it's content).
