She waited 11 months.11 months of calls, chats and emotional involvement with Dunis, whom she met on Facebook through a mutual friend who was now late. Finally, he called and announced that his leave had been approved and he will be coming home to her in 2 months. She couldn't contain the joy she felt, she quickly dug out her membership card at the gym and called up her instructor to book an appointment. She didn't want to be caught looking drab even though he had seen all her pictures and body on whatsapp video calls but real life body was the truth.
Tick tuck tick tuck! The D day was here, she looked sporty yet gorgeous in her Ralph Lauren yellow polo shirt over a pair of denim jeans with marching snickers. She had rehearsed how she would receive him.
She felt tense, meeting him in person for the first time she had butterflies in her stomach threatening to fly out.The airport was filled with too many happy people and she,for some reason laughed out loud as though everyone was expecting a special someone like herself.
Her mouth was dry from nervousness and she made to go get a bottle of water when she heard her name. She froze for a second and turned around to see him smiling so bright the stars must have been envious for a minute. All she had rehearsed disappeared and she simply melted into his arms.
They must have hugged for eternity cos when they disengaged, a small crowd had formed around them applauding as though he just proposed, she couldn't help but wish he actually did. She helped with his luggage and drove straight to the hotel where she already made reservations.
They got to the hotel and he checked in.
Now alone in the room, they couldn't get their hands off each other. He was awed by her beauty and she was smitten as hell. There was a beep and he quickly excused himself to make a call to his housemate back in UK.

Kechi didn't mind cos she knew and had spoken to this housemate of his several times on the phone. She relaxed on the bed sipping from the bottle of coke she got at the bar downstairs. He came out of the bathroom looking even more handsome than when he went in and all she imagined was a thousand things she was going to do to his sexy body.
He pulled her up and planted wet kisses on her face. "So I finally get to kiss this face of yours Kechi" She held his fingers and made to kiss them when she noticed the mark.A mark that was unarguably formed by a wedding band. She pretended to be admiring his well manicured finger nails whilst taking in every detail and observing the mark on the forth finger on his left hand. The mark looked so fresh as though he just pulled off the ring before getting off the plane an hour ago.
Kechi was destabilized and confused. Dunis noticed and asked if she was alright but she lied to cover up cos she didn't want to believe what her instinct was saying to her.The detective in her was automatically activated...........
