If you have to buy it from her,let someone els do it,then surprise her with it but if you want to give her something extra special,buy a very good ring from somewhere else.

There's nuffin wrong with it.

My brother in law bought a gold ring from my sister and gave it to her. No big deal.

Its not such a big deal, but then it might makes sense if you buy from somewhere else.

It kinda makes it seem like you put some effort into choosing the engagement ring if you buy from someone else.
