Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr will hand Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho the Super Eagle’s No.10 role, usually played by team captain, Mikel Obi, when the Nigerian national team line up against Poland in an international friendly on Friday at the Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw.

Hotsportstv.com reports that John Mikel Obi, who plays for Tianjin Teda, in the lucrative Chinese league, will not be available for the encounter as he is battling to renew his work permit in China.

Sources at the Eagles’ Raddison Blu camp told Hotsportstv.com that Iheanacho has been tried in Mikel Obi’s attacking midfield role in a 4-2-3-1 formation in training with Odion Ighalo as the centre forward and the Leicester star is expected to maintain that during the friendly.

The source said it is Iheanancho’s preferred role and has been delivering on it adding that the Leicester midfielder “is solid and quick in his decision making.”

The 21-year-old former U-17 World Cup winner is expected to marshal the midfield alongside central midfielders Wilfred Ndidi and Ogenyi Onazi.
