LIKE LEAH SHARIBU, LIKE AMASA FIRDAUS If Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus is a Muslim fanatic for refusing to remove her hijab and risk being denied the call to the Prestigious Nigerian Bar, then Leah Sharibu is a Christian fanatic for refusing to adorn hijab even at the risk of her life! Like Leah Sharibu, like Amasa Firdaus. Amasa Firdaus decline removing her hijab, Leah Sharibu declined wearing hijab! Leah Sharibu decline wearing hijab putting her life on the line, Amasa Firdaus declined removing her hijab, putting her 18years dream and ambition at risk!! Leah Sharibu declined wearing the hijab and risked being eliminated! Amasa Firdaus declined removing her hijab at the risk of loosing the privilege of becoming Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Leah Sharibu declined wearing hijab at the risk of regaining freedom from her abductors!! Leah Sharibu declined wearing hijab damming the public opinion, Amasa Firdaus refused removing her hijab not minding what would be public comments! Amasa Firdaus insisted on wearing hijab not bothered by what wil be the reactions or feelings of her Parents, Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab even if she would not meet her parents again! Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab because to her, it is against her religious inclination, Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus would not remove the hijab because it is not allowed for a matured Muslim Lady to go out without hijab! Amasa Firdaus would not remove the hijab even at the threat of terrorist, Leah Sharibu would not wear the hijab daring the dreaded Boko Haram! Amasa is not intimidated by the terrorists, Leah is not perturbed by the presence of the devils progeny! But unlike Amasa Firdaus, Leah was unanimously sympathized with irrespective of religious affiliation or tribal jingoism. And unlike Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus, the President and the Nigerian Government were interested in Leah Sharibu's release!! What is the offence of my sister? Why was she not sympathised with by the President and the Nigerian government? Why can't Mr President also make a proclamation or even promise that Amasa's case would be resolved, why is it that our dear President is still silent over Amasa's case. Can't he realize that Amasa is the Siamese twin of Leah? They both did the same thing, and committed the same offence!! Why will he support one and leave the other to her fate? This is unlike a good father! If Leah Sharibu deserves the attention of Mr President and the sympathy of Nigerians, then Amasa Aljanatu Firdaus should be called to the bar without further delay.

This is so wrong and since it looks like you don't understand the basis of comparison, I'll spare you future blushes! Firstly, there's no law --- written or unwritten -- anywhere stating that a certain group can abduct a girl and go Scot free with such action(...that is, the girl should not be released) but there's a rule --- written or unwritten --- that soon-to-be-called-to-bar lawyers who are females shouldn't put a covering on their head. Here, the difference is that, while Firdaus is fighting the law, Leah is fighting for her life. Secondly, there's a big difference between life and death; and also bondage and freedom. Firdaus can move around, she can eat what she likes, she's not under any form of inhuman treatment but unfortunately Leah is. It can be argued that Firdaus committed an offence by not adhering to the regulation of the NBA, but what did Leah do? Nothing!

You don't need to, out of religious attachment or sentiments, entertain biases in your judgement. Imagine yourself in Leah's shoes...or your mum/sister/daughter/granddaughter... Think human, then talk.

This must be the most daft and asinine post ever made on Nairaland. angry What was the name of the school you attended again? Kindly collect a refund from them, because you learnt nothing.

How can you compare a girl who was abducted against her will, and is currently facing a life-and-death situation in a terrorist camp, with a pretentious upstart who enrolled in law school, and decided to go against the rules of the legal profession, in a manner worthy of a drama queen? shocked

Leah Sharibu was abducted by terrorists, Firdaus Amasa was not. sad

Leah Sharibu is being held incommunicado in a terrorist hideout. Firdaus Amasa has always been walking around freely even till date, without any restriction. She is free to eat what she likes, sleep when she likes and move around as she pleases. undecided

Leah Sharibu did not voluntarily accompany her abductors to their enclave, but she was kidnapped. She never subscribed freely to their mode of dressing or their religious beliefs before being abducted. angry Firdaus Amasa willingly enrolled for a degree programme in law, knowing quite well what the approved lawyers' outfit looked like, and signed up voluntarily to obey the rules of the profession, which she wilfully disobeyed at the call to bar ceremony. undecided

Leah Sharibu is being forcefully asked to convert to Islam against her wish and wear a hijab. sad Firdaus Amasa was not asked to renounce her faith at any point in time, and is insisting on wearing a hijab which is not part of the approved dress code for court appearances.

So what similarities exist between them?

Are you a Boko haram sympathizer?
A closet Jihadist?
Don't worry, it will soon come close to home. Don't forget that the majority of the victims of Boko haram are not even Christians.
I'm not certain how you could sit down and comfortably compare the 2 scenarios , or are you mentally deficient? Is this really the way you and the people around you see the 2 scenarios? Or are you trolling?
Are you telling us Boko Haram stands for what true muslims stand for, since you claim BH is now recruiting for Allah?
You are a bastard for that thought.
Hope you know the religion boko haram follows that you are laying claim to does not support Firdaus quest for Western knowledge? Even from their name- Anti western knowledge. So what is Firdaus even doing in the university in the first place going by your logic?
You are a disgrace to true Islam if you have the guts and temerity to even compare the 2 cases of BH abduction and NBA.. Every muslim i know have denounced BH and tell us everyday they BH are not muslims and not practicing islam, yet with this singular selfish post of yours you will make people further doubt the credibility of such claims.
Are Firdaus supporters so warped in logic? Is this really the thoughts of MURIC?
