The commissioning of the Iconic LEKKI DEEP SEA PORT is currently on going at Ibeju Lekki.

On hand to commission this ground breaking project is the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Gen. Mohammadu Buhari and Mr Akinwumi Ambode, the Lagos state Governor represented by Dr. Idiat

The Lekki Deep Sea port is a journey that started in 2007 with a vision to make it the deepest and largest sea port in Africa and has been estimated to facilitate 3.61 billion US Dollars on the countries GDP. It is important to note that the Lagos state Government has a 20% stake in this colossal project billed to be completed in 2021.

WHY IS IT A LANDMARK EVENT TODAY?

1. The project is mission critical to the achievement of creating a special economic zone

2. Its major purpose is for export duties

3. It will create an enabling environment for private companies to do business

4. It will create 600, 990, 072 jobs

5. It will result in the construction of wider roads for easy conveyance of trucks and pay loaders to move containers out of the deep sea port. This particular route directly affects Epe, of which several roads in its environs are nearing completion.
