Federal Government would tax you, State would tax you, LG would tax you, Road safety looking for fault, Vio too, not forgetting police. Then you now have to deal with street urchins, kidnappers and robbers. And now Pressure groups are starting to streamline the taxing. Naija which way.. undecided

It's disgusting to see so many people writing in support of these "youths" who are nothing more than a bunch of thugs running a shakedown racket. Is this what all those years of militancy has turned minds to in the Niger-Delta, rendering them incapable of appreciating the difference between right and wrong? With so many in the region reduced to such a criminal mindset, it's no wonder all the oil companies have fled the region, while there is so little to show for the 13% derivation in terms of physical development or human indicators.

Anyway, I won't BLAME THEM....because CHURCHES have been reduced to BUSINESS CENTRES and Ponzi Scheme outlets.
They should extend such to all those Local outlets that call themselves churches..

...a bypass street I once visited had about 24 churches.
..ask me what their objectives are..?
Unemployment has pushed many souls towards erecting churches and making money.
Most General Overseers are after structural and financial expansion rather than SOUL- WINNING expansion.

The difference between the Lagos area boys and your lot is that unlike you, we don't regard ours as anything more than common criminals who should be behind bars. We certainly don't go about making shameful excuses for thugs who have even sunk to the level of trying to extort religious establishments! Only the criminal-minded support brazen criminality, and this is the bucket within which low-IQ reprobates like you belong.

Yeah, it must be because "lagos is headquater [sic] of extortion" that the oil companies have all fled your region and relocated to the very same Lagos; it must also explain why reports from international agencies like the World Bank, the IMF, USAID and the like all say your region is plagued with militants demanding "deve" even from those working on humanitarian development in the region! That must be the explanation for why so many commenters on this very thread have been so quick to excuse hoodlums making threats to a church to extract money from it - because they want to emulate the "headquater" [sic] of extortion ...

Oh, and by the way, perhaps if your "youths" hadn't been so busy shaking down everybody passing through in the name of "empowerment", there might have been sufficient funds to spare to give you a proper education of the sort that would have taught you that the right spelling is "headquarters", not "headquater".

I don't think there is anything outrageous about #500000, especially when one person from the church can easily give out that cash. Also they mentioned a lot of things they wanna use the money for.

*note* Is like a community fee and anybody building in the community pays.

Sadly this is the story of the Niger Delta. Criminals and thugs masquerading as youth groups. Extorting, blackmailing, kidnapping and killing.
All big businesses such as oil companies and telecommunications companies have upped and moved their head offices out of the region because of the general insecurity of the place so they are now turning on the religious houses and themselves.

Image of this outrageous letter is currently setting Bayelsa Facebook community on fire, as Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Epie clan demands N500,000 from a church in the state.

The IYC sent a letter to Redemption Ministry in Bayelsa state on 27th march 2018, giving the church an ultimatum of five days to respond to the letter.

According to the letter, the group claims the outrageous sum being demanded for is aimed at organizing Youth seminar, Workshop, Youth sensitization and Youth empowerment.

The church however, has cried out to the entire public, seeking for advice on how to go about the sum of N500,000 being demanded of them from IYC considering the time frame given.

Meanwhile, Concerned Bayelsans have expressed their displeasure towards the letter from the IYC epie clan and it's content on Facebook.

The church has been stealing from the masses.

IYC collecting their own tithe.

I just told you that we recognise "omo onile" for the common criminals that they are, and your response is to say "I dont know why you are protecting Omolile in Lagos" ? Are you for real?

See, this is what I'm talking about when I say you clearly had a substandard education: your educational deficits don't just involve an inability to spell - inexcusable in an age when every phone and browser has built-in spellcheckers - but also a glaring inability to comprehend even simple English sentences. I guess it isn't surprising under the circumstances that your first instinct isn't to castigate the brazen thuggery of these "youths", or the criminal mindset of those cheering them on, but to attack me using the old "tu quoque" gambit, for daring to notice the whole show of shame. Not that I expect you to understand anything I've just written, being the at best semi-literate tribal champion that you are.

Why do we complain about the increase in churches and not the increase in brothel and baby factories. The increase in the number of cchurches is healthy as it is proportional to the increase in moral decadence and drop in societal values.

Since the money is needed to empower the youth through seminar, then there is no need for the church to pay.

After the church is completed, all the youth in the community should join the church.

The pastor of the church will ensure quality training with resource persons form RCCG pool through out the world.

So because of this you cut your nose to spite your face?
Between Yenagoa and Port Harcourt there are police and Army checkpoints at every stone throw. The whole East West road is militarised and on complete lock down
Who suffers it?
The indigenous people in the area!! Are people in the north the ones suffering their vehicles being searched every step of the way?
The worst thing is the Niger Delta people are now turning their guns on each other.
