No don't say that....in the little way we can ,we put in our shifts....our bq,s in my home town in Anambra has been free for every corper that serves in my town, and is from the west. This has been on for close to 30yrs.My aunty that takes care of the house provides free food as well. Igbo people chased the Yoruba people out of their region during Biafra, they will constantly remind you that you're a visitor in their land.

They train their children to hates the Yoruba people.

They hates the Yoruba people even though when we show them love.
How do u expect Yoruba population to be much in such an hostile region.
I don't agree with you. Even if they were chased away during the war it's still not sufficient reason to have a low number of Yorubas in Igbo land. The war happened almost 50 years ago so normal migrations should have resumed since then. I believe you are making up these stories to make Igbos look guilty but I wish to tell you that I know some Yorubas residing in Igbo land and they don't complain about Igbos mistreating them or asking them to leave. That's false bro. In fact Igbos don't even care about them being Yoruba. The Hausas and Fulanis are the tribes the Igbos are not really comfortable with and they still don't even mistreat them except occasional clashes. As for the Yourba man I can tell you Igbos don't care. You need to visit Igbo land and see things for yourself and stop making unsubstantiated claims on Nairaland.

Concerning Igbos teaching their children to hate Yorubas that is TOTALLY untrue. I wonder where you got that fasle information from. Igbos don't even talk about Yorubas before you talk of having the time to teach their kids to hate Yorubas. And why should they do so? I know Yorubas who got married to Igbo women in Igbo land. How will that be possible if igbos preach hate to their kids.

If you think Igbos are "hostile" to Yorubas come to Igbo land and see for yourself. Nobody will care you are a Yoruba man. I don't know how you came up with all these false claims. It seems you are drawing conclusions from what you read on Nairaland. Nairaland doesn't represent the true situation on ground. Anyone can come on Nairaland and say anything rubbish just to draw attention to himself and pass time.

grin See brain of a typical igbo man, naming things after someone equate achievement hehehehehe. He even said two universities named after azikwe grin, after the one in anambra, which one again o. Awolowo was never a president, yet, he did many great things grin

A man that was never a president achieved all these below.

1.) He named Nigeria’s national currency as ‘Naira’ when he was the Federal Commissioner for Finance. The late sage took the name of Nigeria and collapsed it as ‘Naira’

2.) Awolowo introduced free primary education for all and free health care for children in the Western Region.

3. )He established the first television station in Africa in 1959.

4. )He also erected the first skyscraper in tropical Africa:the Cocoa House (still the tallest in Ibadan).

5.) Awo as fondly called was conferred by President Shehu Shagari with the title of the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR), the first and only non-president to be so honoured in recognition of his sterling qualities and contributions to the service of the country.

6.) He was the first individual in the modern era to be named Leader of the Yorubas (Yoruba: Asiwaju Omo Oodua), a title which has come over time to be conventionally ascribed to his successors as the recognized political leader of the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria.

7.) The man widely believed by admirers to be the best President Nigeria never had was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria’s parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959.

8.) In 1949 he founded the Nigerian Tribune, the oldest surviving private Nigerian newspaper, which he used to spread nationalist consciousness among his fellow Nigerians.

9.) The party he founded, Action Group was the first to move the motion for Nigeria’s independence in the federal parliament and he obtained internal self-government for the Western Region in 1957.

We are asking for azikwe's achievements, this one is giving airport and school named after him. I don't need to mention how many things named after awoo. His achievements are all I need to make people know. He said he was not given a state burial, typical igbo brain. Even awolowo's wife was given a state burial. Name azikwe's achievements. Only foolish and lazy thinking igboman will put azikwe above awolowo.

Just ignore that ipob flat headed monkey jare

Everyone is talking trash.

1. We are not much in Yiibo land because there’s nothing there for us. Yorubaland is far blessed & strategically positioned. Why would anyone go to a n erosion ravaged landlocked POS when we have seabords in Lagos & Ondo as well as other states holding suitable natural & economic environments? This strategic position & viability of Yorubaland is why we have a high number of Yiibos & Gambaris here.

2. Zik started tribal BS. Dude began Yiibo Union in the 1920s spread across Nigeria solely to drive a pan-Yiibo voting pattern. He inherited NCNC from the Yoruba founder & hijacked it from Yoruba people by collapsing his Yiibo union into it. He left his Onitsha enclave to scuttle political progress of Yoruba sons by pitting an unpopular Yoruba-Ijebu son against another Yoruba son? He all of a sudden got angry that Awo copied his ethnic chauvinist model when he founded Egbe Omo Oduduwa first & collapsed it into AG. The stewwwpid Zik felt he could play ethnic card but got upset when Awo did it & when the North also copied his style.

3. Nigeria can never be that way because Yiibos are innately greedy & like to ‘reach’. The coup, unitarism of the civil service & government, favouritism based domination/superiority complex & foolish sense of entitlement/victimhood and a lot more are reminders as to why Nigeria has been done since the constitutional conferences to 1966.

CSTR1002:
They called him "alejo"

That was exactly the same thing awolowo did to zik.

Awolowo won his election seat in Western Region, Zik won his own in Lagos owing to Yoruba votes. At the end of it all the party with majority seats (Action Group) formed government and Awolowo became the first premier of the Western region and his party did not even win any of the 5 seats in Lagos.

Zik did not have any clout outside Lagos in the Western Region, beyond his Lagos Yoruba political associates.

Awolowo did not commit any crime in being a Yoruba man in his own Yoruba land and campaigning as a true Yoruba man. He could only campaign for his own seat in his Yoruba soil, while the Benin Anthony Enahoro and the Warri Itsekiri Prest, also campaigned as natives of their own constituency to win their respective seats with the same Action Group in the same Western Region. Just as the likes of Dennis Osadebay also contested as an Igbo man from the Western region and Okotie Eboh contested as an Urhobo/Itsekiri on the platform of NCNC and defeated fellow Igbo and Urhobo contestants from the Action Group.

So if Azikiwe and Okotie Eboh and Osadebay won seats for NCNC in the Western Region/Lagos, just as Awolowo, Enahoro and Prest won seats for Action Group in the same Western Region, where do you place your "Alejo" narrative as the reason why Azikiwe and his party failed to measure up to Awolowo and his party in the Western Region elections and eventual Premiership?

As at 2015, Alex Otti in Abia state was reminded that even though his family might have resided in Ngwa land for so long, he was not a true Ngwa man and will not be the one to represent the Ngwas when the opportunity finally came to become governor of Abia state.

The day you finally realise that it is absurd that when independence came calling for the regions in Nigeria under federal British rule, the Igboman thought it was too early for the Yorubas to be independent, despite being the ones who had long been academically, socially and politically ready to run a modern society, so he wanted to rule them first when his own and the other region were to be run by a native of that region, only at such time would you have overcome your wild greed and delusional entitlement.

^^^A Fulani was the very first elected Mayor of Enugu. You can chew on that first. Yorubas of electoral value should move to the East and campaign for positions. That's the only way to get voted for. You do not see Igbos in Igboland contesting for positions outside Igboland, or do you?

You are very funny. Shouldn't charity begin from your home region? shocked How many indigenes from Onitsha, or Omambala axis get elected as governor in Enugu, or how many have been voted in to represent Nsukka in the house of reps in Abuja? The day that happens, you would have made a valid point....!

In the First Republic in the early '60s, P.C Ebudike represented Badagry West in the Western House of Assembly. Mrs. Mercy Eneli, Ibezim Obiajulu and Mbonu Ojike were freely elected by Lagosians into political office. Please go and check. undecided

Mazi Mbonu Ojike (c 1914 - November 29, 1956) was a Nigerian nationalist and writer. He advanced from a choirmaster, organist, and teacher in an Anglican school to become a student in America and then a cultural and economic nationalist. He was the Second Vice President NCNC, and Deputy Mayor of Lagos in 1951. Ojike was known as the "boycott king" for his slogan, 'boycott the boycottables.' Ojike was born to the family of Mgbeke and Mbonu Emeanlulu in Arondizuogu, Colonial Nigeria.

There was a bank robbery that took place in south east which was caught on tape last year. The policeman who happens to be Igbo was killed. There was a fund raising online that was spearheaded by a Yoruba man by the name Kayode Ogundamisi and published by a Yoruba newspaper Punch. If you go to the GO Fund me page where money was raised for his widow and family, majority of those who contributed are Yorubas. Yours truly is one of them by God's grace.
