The stop command means you must halt. Other signs say no forward movement , left or right turning. No movement from the opposite direction as well.
The only the you are allowed to do is a U-turn.

All those road signs are telling you about what is going on IN FRONT (ie, the space ahead).
If then it says "No movement from opposite you and that you cannot go forward, you cannot turn to the road on the left or right hand side", it then suggests you turn 180° GOING BACK THE WAY YOU CAME (Make a U-turn).
It is left for you to look for alternative routes to your initial destination or change your mind for a different destination.
But the signs are not telling you to remain there with them

The stop sign is for you/anyone approaching that junction from South. It then says: you cannot continue to the north, east and/or west. Also, no one is allow from north to south.
So, for you to continue, you have to return southward and look for alternative routes.
