This cultural music / dance is very common in Northern Igbo land and Southern Benue Idoma areas.

I heard there is even an ethnic group called Igede in Benue and the music has a lot to do with them. So why aren't we so aware of the similarities between the Igbo and Idoma and Benue people?

I love the dance and the music. In my town Oka only an Umudioka person or a descendant of an Umudioka can dance to it during an event. Its so mesmerizing and unique.

I will like to hear / see the Idoma / Benue version. All I have heard are the Oka and Enugwu version.

Enjoy.

This is a late response but you are right, there are great similarities between both "tribes". Idomas can be found in Enugu. I have seen the dance done in a similar way but my people are also partly from Enugu.
We have similarities with our languages, certain rites and passages and aspects of the culture in general.
