OAU Sex Scandal: OAU University Rankings Should Be Revisited by mordsith: 7:02pm On Apr 15, 2018
In a prophetic twist, the powers that be in the Obafemi Awolowo University decided to exonerate one of it's own in the sex for grade scandal. Using high sounding and hollow arguments, it has exonerated Prof. Richard Akindele from impossibly excusable crimes against the academic society.

The premises of lack of accuser as the basis of probable jettisoning of the probe is insincere and can only be seen as the honor that exists among thieves. The University should take salient steps in rescuing it's name from the abyss of disrepute or be equally shown such by the greater academic society.

The award of degrees is not what makes a University rather academic control over the process of award is equally requisite. How can the alumnus of the university defend their degrees if the academic sincerity of the university is undermined. It is therefore saddled with University ranking groups and the National University Commission to revise the ranks allotted to the Obafemi Awolowo University, probably downgrading it by 50 steps downward due to lack of academic control.

The evidence against the embattled Professor is overwhelming as both church and students have risen to affirm his voice. The example set by the Anglican Church is Sterling as it wasted little time in condemning the accused when mounting evidence pointed to his guilt. The Church could not ruin it's reputation in defending a crime against academics neither should a University that is interested protecting it's name.

Is it B or C that you want? On the basis of what, sex? How low can our society sink? Why should our certificates be respected when it is tainted with sex and bribes?

The Professor should resign or be shown the way out. The University should show moral leadership.

Wetin bring Anglican church for mata? There are procedure for doing things. Through investigation will needed before drawing conclusion and not mere audio tape. The victim and the accused are needed for the investigation not media trial.
