I believe so, mental illness will greatly reduce his culpability for the suicide if not totally remove culpability.

The judgment is based on when u have ur mind in place, healthy. Not when u lost it. So God will judge them in their state before the madness. A mad person "cannot commit suicide" because a suicide is a deliberate act of someone using his free will, in his right mind to kill himself. So a mad person can kill himself but it s not a suicide.

depression or any other mental illness are terrible and sometimes worse than the bodily illnesses we see daily. Mighty Prophet Elijah was depressed and on the edge of suicide until God rescued him (1Kings 19:4-19). I also believe that sometimes these illnesses are as a result of demonic oppression (Mark 5:2-5) and in that case if suicide happens (Mark 5:13), then if the person was born again, he should make it to heaven. But as for suicides like King Saul's own and his armour bearer, they should be heading to hell.

There’s an account in the gospels of a man who was possessed and did hurt himself. Jesus Christ healed him. The way the account is made, he is a victim of the demons even if he did hurt himself. I look at suicide as the extreme of hurting yourself. So I’d say if suicide was sin,the victim would not be held accountable for their actions.

Someone suffering from serious depression(which is a mental illness) can take his/her. So, saying those who commit suicide are in their right senses is not always true.

OP,

If a person, regardless of their mental capacity or status or condition in this world, is truly saved/justified by the operation of God, the King of Heaven/all (John 1:13, Romans 10:17)... they will make it to Heaven!

To end up in Hell(Eternal Damnation) one must be born-again — born of Water AND born of Spirit. It is only after that the person is eternally bound to the Kingdom of God where Heaven(Eternal Reward) and Hell(Eternal Damnation) are both found. A person who is not born-again cannot end up in Hell(Eternal Damnation) because he or she does not first possess the eternal life necessary for such an end.

Jesus Christ said except a man be born-again he can't enter into the kingdom of God. Also, He went on to say that those who stand faithful until the end will be saved-- Matthew 24 vs 12 - 13 and Mark 13 vs 13 - implying that those who do not will have their end in eternal damnation(Hell) instead. So why pretend you believe in Jesus Christ when clearly you will have no part in His teachings and commandments?
