Former Education minister, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has criticized the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara for revealing that the 2018 budget will be passed this week

MC EBISCO reports that both presiding officers of the National Assembly disclosed this after they met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

Reacting through her Twitter handle, Ezekwesili said the lawmaker’s counterparts in other countries had already passed their budgets four months ago.

She wrote: “Just look at you and your colleagues Senate President @bukolasaraki and Speaker @YakubDogara. Just look @ you all at the @nassnigeria. Your counterparts that earn just about 40% of the monthly heist you call “operating cost” passed their countries’ budgets 4 MONTHS AGO.”

there are some comments i read online i get confused, I ask myself did he come from a home, was he raised by an adult.

We are in may yet no budget has been passed despite all the assurances that it would be passed earlier.Anyway our problem is not budget passing but budget implementation.
I am sure if it was about money sharing or how to increase their salaries and by 85%,the next day after the president presented such it would have been passed.

Now PMB has seen the reason why Asiwaju was against Saraki heading the legislature.
Senator Saraki has been using the legislature to bargain for his release from the corruption trial while holding the rest of the nation to ransom. Dogara just does follow follow since he was also elected against the parties choice.
It's so sad that inexperience caused PMB to underate the importance of having credible people heading the legislature.
So sad. A panel should be set up to investigate why the legislature keep sabotaging the country this way and everyone culpable tried.

If Nigerians are not aware, the legislators we vote should be our number 1 priority at election.

They should project the aspirations of their immediate contituency. They should have the utmost interest of the nation and this must be seen by the issues they deliberate upon on the floor of the house.

By denying you your budget they have denied you development.

Fortunately the woman is saying the truth but do they even care? The budget can't be passed so far it does not meet their personal needs. That's even phase 1 while the 2 phase is the implementation proper of the budget.
Sometimes I often ask myself 1hy did God bring me to this such "lawless" country! Where snake swallow money and Senator jumps off a moving vehicle aka James bond of Kogi and all sort of dramas day in day out,why!
Unfortunate again, our vote does not really too matter because it will be rigged either we like it or not hence PVC or no PVC the script has been written on those coming back to power come 2019.
If not what are these guys doing in Senate for heaven's sake! Who are they serving?
