Have read so much about this. Since you said assuming Nuclear weapons are not involved, then the winner will depend on the aggressor. Russia don't have what it takes to invade America. They will be seriously dealt with. Same thing with America. Because of the distant, it won't be possible for US to invade Russia. Russia has what it takes to resist and incur terror on invaders. But if its Nuclear war, then the US will definitely Win.

You are even adding "definitely" to it. Russia has more nuclear weapons than america. There can't be a winner. simple

Defensively the Russia Federation are considered to have the most effective capability.

A war between the two nations (without the use of Nuclear weapons) would probably last for an 'eternity', something of an indefinate stale mate.

Add their nuclear capabilities to the mix, then,
