This matter should be directed to the federal Government not the state Government

you said there is a shoot out between both parties ? are protesters supposed to be armed, if at all there was deployment of troop to that area it the order has to come from the executive as procedure requires, so its definitely between the federal govt and the Host community

It's so disappointing how the Nigerian Federal Government has lost its sole executive responsibility of protecting lives and properties in a state such as this and yet they still tag the youths as lazy

Its quite unfortunate that the Federal government do not carry out their responsibilities appropriately, considering the fact that this is not a state affair but a federal government's case.

You probably do not know what dickson has been doing, and no one is sayin anything. Even the state Assembly members are quiet.
The crises all started when he built his own university at his hometown.

The protesters are mainly women.
However, the youths gave them their support because there are outstanding issues concerning the school yet to be resolved

Mr2kul:
There is currently a combact between indigenes of Amassoma (Niger Delta University host community) and cops.
It all started when some non-academic staffs were dropped by the governor which resulted in a serious protest by the women and the youths last week.
Report has it that the angry protesters shut the school gate thereby preventing movement in the school vicinity.
On Friday, 18th May, it was reported that resolutions were reached at a meeting of NDU governing council, traditional rulers and stakeholders of the community.
On one of the resolutions reached, it was said that the paramount rulers and the host community should ensure the reopening of the varsity gate shut by the protesters latest Saturday, 19th May but however, the gate was still locked as of Sunday, 20th May.
Report has it that cops were deployed to the community in the early hours of Tuesday, 22nd May, which is today, they reopened the gate and surrounded the school vicinity.
However, the angry youths of the community with war songs chased the cops and shut the gate again.
Report has it that more cops has been deployed to the community and there have been a sporadic shoot out between the two parties.
Make dem continue we the students are waiting. After those that don't have sense will go and die for nothing at the end of the day peace will still rein and the school will reopen then they'll know they fought an empty fight. When they should be fighting their kings (rulers) for sidelining them in their last meeting with the governor they are there fighting a police man with riffle in Nigeria. At your own risk. like I said, we the students are waiting

OMG... this is hard to see. Why would these youths choose to put their lives on the line all for a protest? This is sad. Really sad!
Re: War In Amassoma, NDU Host Community (Graphic Photos) by TeeMaama: 7:59pm On May 22, 2018
Quite sad, may the souls of the departed rest in peace. But there was really no need for the whole community stuff.

The bayelsa state government does not control the police or the army, its a federal government issue, but the vermins that don’t want peace in bayelsa and always looking for how to score cheap points won’t let the government of dickson rest
