BLOODY LOVE

OLADIPUPO CHARLES

"I'm tired of your wailings" Rebecca screamed as she wrestle her hands free from Olaoye's
"Please" Olaoye pleaded. "I love you"
"I'm sorry, I'm tired of your continuous tantrums" she screamed.
The ceiling fan swallowed her voice.
"Leave me alone!" She shouted drawing back some strands of her hair covering her face.
"Alright I will change" He replied.
She heaved a sigh of relieve and then roll her eyes.
Olaoye stood up and wrapped her into his hands.
The smell of her perfume penetrated into his nostril stirring up memories, great memories.
He smelled and kissed her hair
Olaoye met Rebecca Okonkwo at Minna during their one year NYSC. A bright lady from Imo state.
Her kindness towards the town students attracted him to her. She was notable for helping the less privilege kids study. By the end of the session kids that the permanent staffs once saw as the dullest started catching up.
Her daily good morning smiles and good night waving weren't left out.
"You know I love you" He whispered to her ears while playing with her weave-on.
"I know" she muttered.
Suddenly her phone started ringing.
"Pick it" He said.
"Nah" she said shrugging after checking the caller.
"Pick your call" he repeated sternly.
"I'm not picking it, don't start again"
Before she could drop the phone into her bag he snatched it and ran off to the door.
"Dayo?" He asked, staring at the phone as if something was choking him.
She grunted.
"Who is Dayo?" He asked sternly. The phone continued ringing.
"It not your business" she snapped "Give me back my phone!"
The phone stopped ringing then a message came in.
Rebecca thank you for yesterday night, I really appreciate
"I won't tell you. I don't understand all these shenanigan" She retorted "in fact I'm going home"
She made for the door.
He grabbed her by the neck and threw her backward. She went crashing unto the floor, coughing.
"What did Dayo did to your body!" He screamed as he threw the phone away.
He could feel his adrenaline pumping up as thoughts of the said Dayo caressing Rebecca's body came to his mind. The name stayed, hovering across his mind.
He spat in anger.
"Let me go!" She screamed as she went for the door again but he sprang on her, both of them crashed to the ground.
Her long painted nails fetched and found the fleshy part of his neck, tearing and drawing out blood.
His hands went for her throat, smothering her to make her remove her nails from his neck.
"Did he touch your skin!" He screamed, crying in the process.
Her coughing persisted until she started gasping.
Suddenly it dawned to him that she is an asthmatic patient.
He quickly remove his hands and sat down beside her, pulling her up to breathe in and out.
"Rebecca! I'm sorry" He cried.
She coughed.
"Where is your inhaler?" He asked.
She raised her hands and pointed to her bag.
A pint of blood flew from her mouth and few from her nose.
"Rebecca please!" He cried.
She looked at him pitifully, a word tried to form in her mouth but instead of talking she coughed out blood again.
"I'm sorry Rebecca, please look at me" He pleaded as he patted her back.
She gave him a long smile then she threw her head over her shoulder.
The cough stopped.
"Rebecca" He said sniffing and wiping off his tears.
No reply.
"Rebecca!" He screamed.
He pulled her hands up, they flew up and went down in haste.
Fear crept into his mind before checking for her breath.
Nothing, she was dead!
He started sweating and blowing his nose. He had murdered her, out of jealous he killed the only woman that can stand him, help him, motivate and assist him.
" Rebecca!" He screamed again as he staggered backward and fell into one of his cushion.
She lay flat on the floor, blood in her nose, mouth and her opened eyes staring at him as if she was listening.
Hours later Olaoye was found was dangling from his ceiling fan, dead. His eyes staring at the painted wall.
THE END
